I was starting to get worried that my stomach was too big, or that I'd never even HAD the surgery! (I know, super silly thoughts.) I've been able to get down liquids and soft cheeses and even little rice crackers, no prob! Yesterday I had a single serving microwaveable bowl of mac and cheese, and even a tiny piece of chicken (all well-chewed, of course, and I stayed within my calories and hit my protein). No problems at all. BUT! I just made myself a cup of turkey chili, and I couldn't even get through a third of it. It's weirdly comforting to feel that full. ????

I was sleeved on Nov 28th 2014. I know what you mean when some foods fill you more then others. I would try to stay away from pastas, breads, rice, etc... Foods like turkey chili are high in Protein and I am glad it filled you and they are great Protein choices. Keep up the good work!!

Carbs will go through much easier than Proteins (except for breads and things that expand in the stomach). Protein tends to be much more dense, and therefor it stays in your stomach longer and makes you feel fuller. I am sure that's why the mac & cheese didn't cause much restriction, but the turkey chili did. You should definitely stick to the more protein dense foods, ESPECIALLY so soon after surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
