Snacking - hard time staying full :/

Recommended Posts

Hello y'all!

It's been a few months since I've posted here, but I'm now 9 months post op and down 85 lbs. Feeling excited about this, but also feeling it could be more if only I stayed full!!!!

I'll eat a meal, and then w/in an hour be actually hungry again. Like faint, sweaty, really hungry. It's frustrating honestly. I'd love some advice from those of you who have been there.

I can still eat very very little meal food, but of course can pack down the sliders like it's no one's business. If I eat more than a single bite of meat, I vomit, so I stick to salads most often.

I just want to be able to use my sleeve better than I am - I want to be able to eat 3 meals a day and feel good about that without being hungry all the time. Open to any and all suggestions! THANK YOU!

You have to find a way to get Protein in or you will never feel full. That is the least of your problems if your not getting enough protein you are going to suffer medically

Finally..i have a awful time looking up an navigating this app! I just seen what one comment i made was concerning salad (lettuce) an nutrition i want to clarify this. It didnt read the way i meant an it came across as bad choice. Thats not what i meant. Some love salads i used to eat them all the time i thought it was the diet thing to do..i know iceburg was the worst.i did like romaine but other filling lettuces i stopped all salads come tofind out it was causing my IBS an it was filling but for me i was always hungry. Plus by the time i piled everthing with it before i knew it the calories were way up there. Anyways sorry for the rambling. I no some greens have more nutritional value then others but to each their own. I do eat Protein as main meal or snack. I hope you can find some foods that help ya stay fuller longer. I luv raw pecans, regular cottage cheese, i do eat organic turkey meats use as a roll up an put cream cheese with it. These forums are kinda hard to navigate. :)

I find - especially at work that if I ate a tiny lunch and am still hungry within a half hour, I'll bring some string cheese to tide me over. At home, I bought some deli to snack on

If your eating alot of salads its no substance .

Except for Vitamin K, Vitamin A, Fiber and depending on your choice of greens even a bit of Protein. Yeah, no substance at all. B)

I eat real food, get 70+ protein a day and have NEVER been constipated.

Are you on myfitnesspal or anything? I would love to see what your diet looks like and how you are getting that volume of protein in on a veggie based diet. I'm still early, but struggling with the Constipation and want to know how to keep it at bay once I start purees/softs and eventually real food.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
