I am only about a week out from surgery. I have a question for folks further along. How long do the stomach gurgles continue while you are eating or drinking? Every time I take a sip, my stomach gurgles as it settles and I usually need to burp after a few sips. Is that something that continues for the rest of your life or is it something that will go away after a while? If it does go away, do you remember how long it took?

It doesn't bother me when I am home alone (in fact, I appreciate the gurgles because they let me know I am good to take another sip); but, I don't see myself drinking in front of people anytime soon unless they are really good friends. ;)

Three and half years out and I still have them. You (and your spouse) gets used to it.

The gurgling and burping from drinking settled down for me a few weeks out. I still get some rumbling from eating, depending on what I eat. I'm 5 months post-op now.

I'm almost 10 months out and my stomach makes random gurgling noises through out the day. Sometimes its when I'm eating or drinking something. Other times - it just seems to yell out. lol. My husband giggles. I get a little self conscious when we're out or I'm at work, but it is what it is. :)

Mine settled down about a month post op. I burped a lot too and that has gone away too.

I am almost 6 mths out and I am just now noticing that it doesn't gurgle every time I eat. But if I drink a lot on an empty stomach it will make some noise for a while.

My gurgles and bubbles lasted at least 6 months before tapering off. At 1 year, they were almost gone. Now, at 2 years, I have to eat something really tough - like dry chicken breast - to get a gurgle out of Frankensleeve. B)

Mine slowed down tremendously, it happens rarely. Mostly when drinking coffee. The gurgles have been replaced w/burps,

7 months out and Milagro the Mexican Wonder Tummy still loves to make himself known, especially with certain foods.

Gas x strip s helped me. Not many just like one before church or before my follow up appointment. Three weeks out today and all I have is the gurgles after eatin or drinking when its going down. No more belly noises.

I had these weird gurgles before getting sleeved, so I wonder what will happen after. I am glad to hear I am not the only one who has to burp after almost every sip. I hope that goes away soon!

I'm 8 weeks out and my stomach still rumbles with every bite or sip. I also feel like I have to burp all the time. It's super lady like!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
