I was sleeved December 11th. Since surgery I've lost 44 lbs and I'm down 82 lbs total! I'm feeling like my normal self again! I haven't really hit a stall but the weight is coming off slower now since I'm eating real food. I started exercising about two weeks ago and it has really helped kick start my weight loss again! I'm still having problems with vomiting random things. I think it's because I either eat too fast or one bite too much. I'm able to get all my Protein and Water in, but I keep forgetting to take my Vitamins :P

I was sleeved on Dec 29,2014. Ive lost 32lbs so far. I feel like it should be more. I am having a lot of issues with food. i keep it down but I could eat just 2 bites and there is like a bubbly sensation coming up my throat. I have been on Protonix for many years for acid reflux but this doesnt feel like that or indegestion. Im extremely frustrated with it. Because of it, I havent been able to get my Protein nor my Water intake in. Ive have put myself back on the liquid diet to at least make sure that I am getting the Protein. My 6 week post op appt. is Tuesday the 10th. I hope they tell me this is fairly normal.

Down 23 lbs from sleeve surgery 12/23 total loss of 36 lbs. Sailed through every stage and haven't had any problems with any food. I've been cleared to increase the "roughage" so yesterday I had a plum and a salad ???? Funny the things we miss lol

angiwii-how fast are you eating. I had the same problem and I thought I was eating slow then I timed myself and I really wasn't slow enough. if it doesn't take you 25 minutes to 30 minutes to eat, and mean actual eating not just putting it in front of you , you are eating too fast. I would suggest using your phone and downloading a free timer app and set the timer so you take a bite every few minutes and not before, after awhile you will get used to eating this slowly and not need the timer, it really helped me.

Grateful every day that I made the decision to do this! Dec 15th, weight loss has been good, but more importantly, I feel great! I don't find myself tied to the scale anymore, and I'm finally starting to figure out that, "This needs to be your last bite or you're going to regret it" means stop eating now lol. Cold Water makes me nauseous, plain Water makes me nauseous, so I have to drink room temp w/ either lemon or flavor drops of some sort. I feel extremely lucky, because other than that, it's been smooth sailing. I've also hit a plateau, so I just stopped getting on the scale at all, and think long-term...even thought I'm the same weight I was last week, it's still less than it was 2 months ago :)

ccausley - I had my first nutty Protein bar this morning...the texture of the other Protein Bars were causing me to gag (totally mental, it started when I was on the pureed phase). I didn't have any problems (woohoo), but probably should have taken my ppi first, because I did have a little heartburn afterwards.

Sleeved on 1/29, down 21 lbs since surgery, down 40 lbs overall. Easing into regular diet. Only issues have been passing a kidney stone and hormones wacky - in menopause but had a period. Yuck! I am loving the lack of appetite and the feeling of being in control of my eating for the first time in my life. it is just wonderful and I am going to do everything I can to make sure I build a foundation of healthy dietary habits to carry me through the rest of my life, like eating mindfully, choosing healthy foods, obeying to my body's "enough signal" and tracking my food intake.

So nice to see all of the Dec sleevers posts and hear how everyone is doing.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
