Band to Bypass 2/5/15

Recommended Posts

I was banded in 2010 and lost 105lbs. However, I started having extreme heartburn and vomiting and weight loss fluctuation (180-220 etc) After years of attempting to find my "sweet spot" by adding and removing fluid... Several upper GIs and not being able to hold more than 1cc in my band the doctor and I have decided to do the revision. I am currently scheduled for surgery on 2/5/15 and for some strange reason as of yet, I am not afraid, but I am excited. I have been feeling sick for so long I can't wait to start to feel better. I mean, yes, there is a possibility that I can wake up with just my band gone and no other WLS done due to scar tissue (that's the only thing I worry about) but we won't know until they remove the band and see how much damage it has done. I can't wait to get my energy back and run and play with my babies (2 and 6) Hope all goes well.

I also had a band in 2010, and in 2011 had to have mine removed due to the same problems, but at the time I was too scared to have the revision to anything else, and just had the band removed. I am now 10 months post bypass surgery and I am down 105 lbs from 300 to 195 and I couldn't be happier. I wish in 2011 that I had gone forward with the revision instead of wasting 3 years of my life still being unhealthy, but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and I just wasn't ready back then. I hope that you don't have any problems with having the revision and I wish you good luck you are making the best choice for you!!! Good luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
