????A shout to the February sleevers ????

Hi guys! This support group is amazing, we have a huge huge group of only friends and supporters... Exchanging msgs, encouraging each other and a whole lot of love ???? (wifi love)

I m from India, I will be getting sleeved in Feb haven't discussed the date as yet with my surgeon. I m more excited and not so nervous, reading everybody's experience has just made me more and more sure that YES!!! I m getting this done for sure. I have struggled with obesity all my life, never in my life have I seen me thin or just overweight.... Always morbid obesity, approaching my 30's and all I m reminded of life long struggle of never being able to stick to a diet or lose the excess weight. I feel so supported here in the group, ppl out there just to encourage you, help you, clear your apprehensions.... All in all a crazy positive energy in here...

Hope we can help each other embark this journey and motivated.

And February sleevers? India sleevers? Let's share out doctors appointments, gas problems, Multivitamin intake ???? lets just talk ????

Current weight : 242 pounds

Goal weight : 142 pounds

Sleeve date: to be confirmed

Surgery 2/23. Celebrated my 63 birthday today. Blew out the candle in the jello with the wish I won't be so jiggly next year.

I turn 30 this year in 5 months from now, hoping to have this VSG and change everything about myself this year. It's a big BIG BHHIGGG change I m heading for a huge step for a drastic change. Wish me luck.

I'm in a similar boat!! Surgery scheduled for April 2, 30th birthday October 20. I cannot wait to leave obese me in the past and start the new decade with a new, healthier body!

Lol I'm 31, I can definitely say when I turned 30, it seemed more impossible to lose weight, until now! Cheers to the good life ahead of us!

It's nice to know how much we share in common ????

More than anything, the 30th birthday just becomes a huge incentive to get things moving in our lives.

I don't have any kids, it worries me that whenever I do get pregnant the weight will just come crawling back?

Anyone else with the same fear? ????

I know of 2 people that had a baby after surgery and baby and mom did fine. The weight came back off.

Anybody with a PCOS (polycystic ovaries syndrome) I have had that complain since I initially got my period. And since the last 15 yrs I have had irregular and OCP dependent periods. I wonder if the sleeve will get me rid of my PCOS and make things regular.

Anyone else sharing the same?

Congrats on March 12, cloud 9.

I was sleeved on Thursday, February 26th, in the morning. I knew not much of what happened that day. Used a bedpan in recovery and faded back to lala-land. Found out that I had a hernia that was repaired. Had no energy to even talk. Nice quiet room in the back of the ward until 2a when I was woken up because they needed to put someone with horrible infection away from people. I walked for about 30 minutes total and got comfy in my new room. Pain with meds was not bad, but as someone else here stated, the headache and the neck pain were a total drag.

I was released around 3pm on Friday. I was actually glad to go home, my new room was across from the nurses station, too dang loud. Once home, I sacked out on the couch tried to sip sip sip and didn't get much in. Day 3 was better and I am a bit sore today but can definitely drink a couple ounces at a time. I do look like I was beat up, lovenox of shots.

I did not have any drains or catheters left in after surgery. Day 4 and I'm definitely happy that I did this. Down 7 pounds already!

I was sleeved on 2/2 in Tennessee. No regrets! Recovery wasn't near as bad as I expected. Only time I cried was when I told my kids goodbye the night before and when my parents gave me a kiss before I headed back to the OR. This week I am allowed lunch meat, tuna, crackers, and cheese. So far so good. I have a problem getting near enough water and protein in daily. Celebrate vitamins make me vomit. In fact it's the only thing my sleeve has not tolerated so far. Premier protein shakes were my best friends preop and I cannot stand the taste post op so I try and get my protein in from isopure RTD (apple melon). Since my 2 week preop diet and 4 weeks post op I'm down 39 lbs! Still have a long way to go but it's a marathon not a sprint. Good luck Feb sleevers on your journey!

Sleeved 2/4. Feeling pretty good. My boy started spring football so I have been walking the track while they practice. Feels great to be more active verse sitting on the sideline the whole time like I've done in the past. Kind of nervous to eat its been so long, anyone else feel like this? Good thing is getting protein from food, haven't done so well just liquids. Congrats on all those getting ready for surgery! Glad to be on the journey with those who are post-op!

The best part is the loss of course:

Starting weight 319

Surgery day 300

Today (1 month post) 271

Thanks for posting the updates and congratulations on your success!

Guys can I admit to something????

I m totally petrified of the surgery bit... Keeping a strong face infront of the family... But I m a total wuss????

I have wanted this for over 5 years now, finally been thinking of it since 1 year and now it's actually happening and I'm excited, petrified, terrified.... Fearified????

Yesterday I have my upper GI endoscopy and it went fine since I was knocked out. But once I woke up, I was in sooooo much discomfort/pain... I vomited twice and tried to sleep thru the pain, the pain is 50% less today but it still persists.

Started my liquid diet today, getting sleeved on 12th March mixed feelings , I m all over the place....

Any encouraging words and strength imparting messages?!?!?!
