Hi!

I'm recently sleeved (April 27,2016) and am in the Pembroke Pines area.

I'm looking for people to connect with that are on the same path.

Are you going to the meet up in Orlando?

Marlene

Hi I am in West Palm Beach sleeved Jan 26, 2016.

Floridian79 wow what a fantastic total weight loss you had. I gather you are now at goal.

Marlene your a newbie. How are things going for you? What and when is this meetup in Orlando that you speak of. Do you plan to go? I would love to find others in the South Florida area for support and ideas etc. I have been thinking about starting a meetup in this area but I have no ideas how to start it, where to meet and what it should be about. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

This is another South Florida group her at BP but they haven't been active since March.

Hi ssflbelle! Yes I'm a complete newbie and am having a bit of a hard time recovering and getting back to normal. It's been rough and most times I regret it until I step on the scale and see the numbers drop. The meetup in Orlando is being held by an instagrammer by the name of Joy_In_the_Journey. I'll attach a screenshot.

I think it would be amazing to have a support group down here. It'd be nice to have people to meet up with semi regularly who are going through or have gone through similar experiences. I have been looking for people near me that are on the weightloss surgery journey since way before my surgery. I'm sure there are plenty of people on the same boat. I'll look up info on starting a group and let you know what I find.

I started off with the oband center in Hollywood but, I found out they are out of network & they told me I need 6mths nutritional visits but when i called my insurance, my policy doesn't seem to have that requirement. I dnt want to wait 6mths. 3mth ok but 6more?hmm, I'm going to attend a Uhealth (UM) seminar by Dr. De la cruz who is in network & go from there. I have bcbs-ca do you have any recommendations?

Hello to all: I'm a newbie in this process and wanted to know if any one is going through Cigna? And are they strict? I'm very anxious and scared I won't get approved I feel like I'm always that unlucky one! I've already consulted with my surgeon and have my 1st nutritionist visit next week. Another thing I think my PCP is not a believer in the surgery she told me she wants to see the progress of the 3 month supervised diet in order for her to consider writing a medically necessary letter for me. Anyone went through the same thing? Anything will help! Thanks!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
