4CC Band and average first fill

Recommended Posts

I was wondering about the average fill rate with those of us that have a 4CC band.

I'll get my first fill May 30th. My Dr. believes in giving the first fill 8-9 weeks after banding. Which btw I feel that's too long to wait.

The reason being at first you can't eat much and learn to eat small portions and chew well..by the time you wait so long you've fallen back into the old BAD habits.

He also will give 1CC only as a first fill.

What does your doctor do?

I think 1cc is a good first fill. Sometimes people never even need one or sometimes like me they get a bunch before finding good restriction. I had some restriction after my first fill of only .75cc but after a week or so it kind of just wore off. I just kept going back until I felt restricted enough. It took some time but you eventually get there. It is deinfitly better to take it slow than to get too much of a fill and be miserable.

I received 1.5cc at my first fill. Some of my surgeons patients receive anywhere from 1cc to 2cc the first time. He has no set amount to give...he gives you what you can tolerate.

I was given 1.5 cc on my first fill. I thought that seemed like a lot but my doctor said that's what he gives everyone on their first fill. He said the next ones are much smaller.

My first fill was 1.25, next was 1.00 then the 3rd was .75 for a total of 3cc in a 4cc band. My results were about the same as everyone else.....after the first couple of fills it would be great for a week or so, then would settle in and little or no restriction! After the last .75 fill I've had decent restriction, enough so that when I went in for the 4th the dr. and I decided that none was needed at this time! Good luck and work with whatever you get and know that it can be adjusted at any time!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
