Dialated esophagus

Recommended Posts

Give yourself time to heal. Don't ever give up on yourself. I'm sorry this happened to you. Be kind to yourself and stay on top of your doctors to find out your next steps. Good luck.

Very often, this repairs itself after a period without any fill. So fingers crossed! Then the trick is to make sure food doesn't remain above the band; if it is well enough chewed to go through within the one minute, then there is no pressure on the oesophagus.

Thanks I will definetly focus on chewing more. I take a Gi on the 29tth to see if it goes down. On the 4th of Feburary I go back to my surgeon to consider next steps if it is down he said he would consider starting a slow refill or the band will have to be removed and consider a revision

Curious to know how you discovered this complication. What were your symtoms? How long have you had your band?

I hope the unfill resolves it and you can start fresh and new soon!

Hi I've been banded for 3 years

I had the flu 6 weeks ago symptoms went away after 2 days but stomach pain continued went to emergency they did cat scan and it showed dialated esophagus. I through up quite a bit with the flu so was worried about the band. When he removed the Fluid I didn't feel any different besides of course my intake is more I felt that immediately

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
