Post surgery question

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I am one week and two days out, I had the sleeve surgery. I am still on the liquid diet and I have read from others that they get full of of two spoons of food... I don't exactly feel like this is the case for me. I can have a small amounts of food but I am not getting that 'I am so full I will throw up feeling". Is that normal? Did anyone else feel like they could take in more than they think they could? I am really scared this will hinder my weight loss. I have lost ten pounds during this first week and can't wait for more to come! Thanks!

@@Sapp28 You don't want to get the "I'm so full I could throw up feeling" that's a bad sign. I guess it all depends on what it is your eating. You may just be able to tolerate more food and that's ok if your eating the right things you aren't going to put on weight. It's probably too early out for you to know exactly how you will tolerate "real" food. Just take your time and don't push it. Good luck!

Your nerves are healing and numb. Just take it slow. Trust me, you don't want that "I'm gonna throw up" feeling, but you will get it and you may just throw up, which is absolutely awful. I am almost one month out and the other day I veered off my Protein path and have two bites of a brownie. Did it without even thinking about it. Just popped them in my mouth and swallowed like pre-surgery. Didn't wait a minute in between, just did it. Well, guess what....a few minutes later I was sick as a dog and ended up throwing up. I don't think I will ever look at a brownie with that longing feeling again! From now on, every bite that goes into my mouth I will have to remember to think first, because I never want to throw up like that again. Lesson learned. Think and chew, chew, chew! Good luck on your journey! It's actually pretty cool (aside from the puking). :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
