Stomach issues - warning too much info

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 15 Dec and so far I love it - except for today. Basically around mid morning I got terrible gut cramps and have had diarrhea all day. It's just stained liquid at this stage.

I get it with everything I consume- my Protein Shakes, mushroom Soup, pumpkin soup and custard.

My surgeon is now on holidays so I can't call him.

Any ideas?

It sounds like something is not agreeing with you. I found out once I was eating soft foods after surgery I could no longer tolerate eggs. It was sudden and painful. Back off what you're eating and add the items in one at a time. In the meantime, you can dehydrate very quickly from diarrhea. Make sure you keep your Water intake at maximum level and watch for other signs of dehydration. If in doubt - call the surgeon's office. Even if he/she is on vacation - there should be a back up or the service could contact him/her in an emergency.

Thanks. All I had to set it off was three sips of my Protein Shake (no lumps) and Water. But is has settled now. Thanks again

I had my surgery on Oct 15th, and I had diarrhea for about the first 5 weeks (same with my mom). Make sure you're taking a daily probiotic, it really helps believe it or not.. I notice when I don't take it because I'll either have diarrhea or I won't go at all, there's really no in between for me. :( Good luck though!

I am in the same boat! I was sleeved 12/18 and since 2 days post op I have had the same problem every day!! The doctor said it's because I am only on liquids still. It's aggravating, but I will be on to mushies soon!!

I've had the same problem, but have come to the conclusion that I have developed the dreaded lactose intolerance. As long as I avoid any milk, I'm ok.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
