Seeking mentor for band to sleeve

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm Rebecca, 28 year old married female from NJ. I got the band this year but am having stuck/regurgitation issues and extremely slow weight loss. My Dr has ordered a barium swallow for Monday so we can talk about revision. I wouldn't be surprised if he made me wait a while which I am okay with but so could use some support on the journey. If you could be of assistance/ be a mentor/buddy I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!!!

I don't know if I'll be much help, since I only had the sleeve done, and that was on the 3rd of December of this year. I am doing really well, and am ecstatic about my success. I have lost 28lbs, and I can really SEE the pounds coming off. What do you need to know? The surgery was the least painful of all the surgeries I've had, and the recovery was simple, albeit maybe a little boring considering what we are allowed to "eat"! Let me know what you need to know about, I'd be glad to help. Good luck and God Bless you. Merry Christmas! PS. I'm from Spokane, Washington.

My Dr has come on board with my plan to get the sleeve. I have to get some tests and wait for insurance approval to say that the band is not working but I have sufficiently tried. My Dr said this could take a couple months could get everything in order. I was in the hospital to get an emergency unfill on my band yesterday because I was constantly throwing up. My mom just had the sleeve today. I am happy for you that you already lost 28 lbs that's great! In 5 months I've lost 15-20 lbs so the lap band really isn't working for me. My next Dr's appt is on the 15th. I'm used to the way you have to eat though and regularly meet with a nutritionist. It would be great to keep in touch feel free to private message me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
