Slow, slow, and slower! Pounds are wanting to stay!

Recommended Posts

7 weeks PO and down 33 pounds. I know those are GREAT numbers, and I'm so thankful to be feeling better. But the last month has been a slow and stop month! Maybe 9 pounds. The rest was all in the 1st few weeks. I know eventually it will come off. I am following the rules. I do need to drink more Water, and I struggle to hit my 60g of Protein but I manage. My dear husband decided he would lose weight with me... No surgery and of course he PASSED me up yesterday dropping 35 pounds (ugh men..*eyeroll*) lol anyways just venting. It seems to make me feel better when I have someone to vent to! And PS. I really am proud of my hubby. Didn't want that to sound bad ????????????

You're doing just fine.

You could wind up losing 12 or 15 pounds next month. Or 10.

Really, you are doing fine.

Check out the topic on Plateaus... we've all been there, and you'll be delighted once you get past this slight delay and see the pounds suddenly drop. Have faith and treat yourself well. You deserve it.

Don't know what your stats are, but you seem to be doing very well. I'm coming up on my fifth month and I'm averaging about 10lbs a month. I'm just so very great full for every pound loss. I'm giving myself a whole year or longer to get to my goal. I just want to get there. Best.

YES agree, you are doing just fine... there will be plenty of stalls.... I'm out 7 months and on my 6th month only lost ONE single little tiny pound the entire month, now it began to slide off again.... Good luck, continue the good work!! :)

babbs im not worried per say. Just that it all happened so early and just seemed to STOP.

MY SW was 275

CW 242. I'm 4'11.5". My BMI was like 53! Just thought the 1st 50 pounds would be super easy as I'm SO fat ???? by no means am I ungrateful for what I have lost already, nor will it throw me off my plan and my pushing forward :)

I guess you can imagine how I felt when I lost ZERO pounds in October, at 2 1/2 months out. I embarrassed myself at my three month check up, by crying in my surgeon's office. Your body can only do what it can do. I'm a very slow loser, but I made peace with it.

I think you're doing great. Tomorrow will be 2 months for me and I've lost 39.5 pounds since surgery. The first week I lost 16 and since then its been slow and not-so-steady.

You are doing fantastic! Took me 3 months to lose 30 pounds postop....that included a month long stall where I actually gained 3 pounds. Just keep doing what you're doing. Losing slow is healthier and certainly didn't keep me from reaching and even passing my goals.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
