@@Alesha34 welcome to the 30th thread and I was sleeved on the 30th as well. First, I am very sorry for the loss of your father. That must have been tough 3 days after? Wow. I hope you are okay now and doing well with your sleeve.

@@bellabill Yes it was a very rough 3 days but doing well now. I was down 21 lbs this morning. Haven't had any problems at all. I am making sure I measure out everything because I feel like I could probably eat more that I should.

Have any of you tried bread? I was recently cleared to have toast but I haven't done it yet. I was afraid because I heard it doesn't go well after surgery. I was offered a biscuit today. I used to love biscuits but I was afraid to try it so I threw it away! Have any of you tried a biscuit yet? If so how did it go?

I have had some whole grain crackers but no bread or biscuits.. I was told it's ok to have maybe a wheat tortilla or something like that but avoid bread. I would especially avoid biscuits.

I've tried just about everything. I tried a few bites of a sandwich recently and found out bread is still a no-no for my sleeve. I've been able to tolerate one cracker per meal.

How is everyone doing so far? 2 months now! I have had some trial and errors. Sometimes I go over my 800 calorie a day...needing to tighten the reins. Managing proteins and water can be a challenge! I hope I am not the only one?

You are not the only one. Like they told us it is a tool but we still have to manage our protein, drink enough water, and use our limited stomach space for protein. Sometimes I have gone over 800 not too bad 1,000 once nothing like the amounts I could eat pre surgery. I also have to try to disipline myself to eat whats good for me instead of what I want sometimes. I hope I'm not the only one but I do get hungry for things I shouldn't have and my sleeve tolerates most foods well. I'm grateful that I still have to eat small quantities.

I had same problem after continue takin the acid pill 2 reduce acid jn stomach im strait im welll under 500 to 600 cal a day..... 9wks oit my dr said never can have bread rice or dried fruit nothing that can expand in ur stomach wheat tortila is ok

I am trying to curb the grazing. A taste of this and that can lead to other bad habits. It's not always so I am being cautious of what goes in my mouth. Thank God for the fitness pal which really helps with regulating calories. I am also getting back into weighing my meat.. 4 oz can easily become 6--8 oz.

Has anyone tried raw veggies yet? I've been eating a decent amount of cooked vegetables, but I can't remember what the rule is about raw?

Yes I've ate salads tomatoes almost everything raw I've had no problem I was sleeved December 22nd I just don't eat that much any ways like for breakfast I'll eat one boiled egg & 1/2 of a cup cream of wheat drink water all day lunch I'll eat a small salad or fish I don't get hungry at all & I eat lots of fruit

I'm eating cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, bell pepper and lettuce. But I've tried a little cabbage and carrot and my belly hinted it was not yet time. Celery has not been appealing yet. My surgeon said to hold off on the harder things until 6 weeks and then try them weekly. Last week I had seared tuna and could eat that no problem but then I had tuna poke and my belly suggested it was not fully ready. So we'll hold off on Sushi for a bit longer. Nothing huge or incredible happened - it was just a little gnawing that it was taking a bit more work than other things. I haven't been getting too excited because by the time I get my protein in my "belly budget" is near full and there's not a lot of room left for other things. Indian food was AWESOME - we did need to adjust the spice as I don't get rice or bread but my tummy was totally ready for the bit of increased spice. I was able to try a bit of everything and didn't feel cheated and I was able to eat on my left overs for 2 days. :)

Fruit I've been eating. One of those big Honeycrisps is 4 servings for me and if I slice it thin I can eat the skin no problem. Haven't tried orange type fruit yet. Strawberries are a-ok and bananas (ok 1/2 a banana at a time) has been on the menu since mushies.

I went for my 8 week on Tuesday and my surgeon said not to worry too much about the fruits and veggies right now as I'm on my supplements and my body can make the carbs and fats I need. That I just need to focus on getting in the protein and water as my body can't make that and would take what it needs from my muscle mass - and my muscles are what I'm not trying to loose! She said my 1000-to 1100 calories were good but not to go below 800 and if it varied in that range it was ok.

My weightloss has been slower. There was a 3 week stall around week 3. But my surgeon said I was still on track and where I should be. I'm glad she gave me my little gold star because watching everyone else I was feeling a bit left behind. Even though I'm meeting things in my closet I haven't met in years. I'm sure I've said "How YOU doin?" in my best Joey voice at least 50 times when I discover an old favorite.

OH and the super cool part - no more metformin and no more blood pressure medication!
