    Any December 30th Sleevers ?!

I've tried just about everything. I tried a few bites of a sandwich recently and found out bread is still a no-no for my sleeve. I've been able to tolerate one cracker per meal.

    One Month Surgiversary!

Congrats oatmealgirl! Keep up the good work! I love your analogy. That's a good way to think of the sleeve. I have pushed mine too far sometimes and have done a little sliming/vomiting but I'm getting to know what it likes and doesn't like. You're going to be at your 80lb weight loss in no time!!!

    Crush water enhancer

Wyler's makes a good lemonade and strawberry lemonade. There's Crystal Light, of course. I also like Propel waters and Vitamin waters.

What are the best medications for scars and when did you start using them?

    1st birthday post op

I've been wondering this as well. I was sleeved on 12/29 and my birthday is 1/28. I have no idea what to do to celebrate. I'll only be 4 weeks post-op so I'll still be limited in what I can eat and drinking alcohol is out (which is typically how I celebrate). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy (early) birthday @Qtpie28!

    Juicing

I think I'm going to start juicing as a supplement to the Isopure, protein shakes and water I've been drinking. I'm just looking for some variation. Anyone juiced post-op and have any problems? I've juiced in the past but not while doing protein shakes. I did a diet of only protein shakes some years back (doctor supervised) and was told not to juice at the same time because of the high amount of carbs in juices even though it is fresh juice.

    Juicing

Well when I juice, I do mostly vegetables: kale, spinach, cucumbers, beets, celery and carrots. I add an apple or an orange just for a little sweetness. I like the idea of getting my vegetable servings in abundance this way. I wonder if it would be bad or beneficial to just consume juiced vegetables instead of fruit.

    Juicing

See, that's what I was worried about. Dang. Guess I stick to the Isopure, protein shakes and water. Thanks!

    Any December 30th Sleevers ?!

@@hootney1214 I'm 13 days out and I've not lost much either. It's very frustrating. I really want to add some exercise. I don't feel like walking is enough. I just keep telling myself that things will get better. Once we hit the six week mark and can do a variety of exercise (I like zumba and water aerobics) and can eat other foods I.e. veggies and lean meats, the weight will fall off. We just have to get through the healing phase first.
  10. This is something I've been wondering as well. Sucking on ice sounds like a good idea. How long did you guys wait to try something spicy after being sleeved?
  11. Has anyone tried it? I've heard it is ok and mixes pretty well with other fluids. I'm looking for something unflavored that can be mixed in with puddings, soups, yogurt, etc. I'm sick to death of protein shakes. I've tried Unjury's unflavored protein and it's ok. Just looking for some other options.
  12. Has anyone had any success with firming skin or helping lessen loose skin with certain lotions? If so, which do you recommend? Has anyone tried any lotions that have keratin in them?

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

I'm on full liquids as well until Monday. I've cheated a little by making mashed potatoes the consistency of soup by adding extra almond milk to them. I cannot wait to the pureed stage!

    Any December 30th Sleevers ?!

@@oatmealgirl I constantly worry about what I'm eating too. I was sleeved on 12/29 too and lost 8 lbs last week and have been at a stall this week. I was using Unjury protein powder in my mashed potatoes, cream soups, broths and flavored waters. I haven't been able to drink a full protein shake since pre-op. I'm wondering if my weight stall is because of all the carbs. I imagine mashed potatoes and cream soups probably aren't super low in carbs. I'm taking it with a grain of salt for now. I need the variation in food to help me get through. Once I'm on full foods again I'll be able to swap out the potatoes for some veggies. I'm actually looking forward to it lol.
  15. How many days did you clean and put new bandages on your wounds? How long did it take before they were healed enough for maybe just Neosporin w/o being covered?
  16. I'm on day 9 post-op and I'm bored out of my mind. I don't know what to do with myself. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time since surgery and did a 45 minute zumba class. I only did the basics because I don't want to rush into anything and I noticed a little pain when trying to do too much. I really miss the pool but I'm not allowed to swim yet. I live in the Midwest where it's SUPER cold so no going for walks outside. I'm not really a tv watcher so that's out. I've been spending the majority of my time reading and crocheting....both of which I'm bored with now. I've packed away some clothes that I'm hoping to never need again but even my ability to clean is limited because I can't do any "heavy" lifting. Sigh....so I don't know what to do with myself or what I SHOULD be doing this first few weeks after surgery. What have you been doing/what did you do?
  17. So how long did you wait to start doing squats, lunges, etc after surgery? I have a nice size tush and I want to maintain/tone it as much as I can. The hope is to only lose some of it but mostly tone.
  18. @ejd1024 too funny! Thanks for the laugh. I'm going to check with my surgeon. I know he said no strength training until 6 weeks but maybe squats and the likes would be ok before then.

    African American vsgers!

My surgeon said I could resume sexual relations as soon as I felt up to it. He suggested being mindful of the positions I chose so I did not put pressure on my healing stomach.

    scars

I like the idea of the natural choices like shea butter and tea tree oil. @blondiebabs did you apply the tea tree oil directly or did it have to be diluted with a base oil?

    scars

Wow! Lots of options. Thanks for the info.
  22. @proudgrammy thanks! I'm AM feeling really good. My dr said I could return to walking and the elliptical right away so I figured doing zumba w/o jumping and bumping would be ok. Plus, I just stuck to basic moves. I didn't do a lot of bending or reaching either. So it basically just amounted to walking/marching in place a lot. LOL Eating was definitely my favorite past time. I guess that's why I really don't know what to do with myself now. I'm a student and I'm still on winter break so I don't have any homework or projects occupying my time either. I suppose I should just sit back and enjoy it while I can. It's difficult because I'm used to being a busybody but I'll make it work. I was just curious to know if that's what everyone else did during the first few weeks. I want to make sure there's nothing I'm supposed to be doing.
  23. Are you focusing on hydration and protein for the first six weeks?

    Front Butt

@amazon I am feeling pretty good! Thanks for asking. I've been blessed not to have any complications (thus far) or any major difficulties adjusting to this new lifestyle. I hear ya about just wanting to get healthy. That's what it's all about. I can't wait to not huff and puff up stairs anymore. lol Seeing your stats gives me something to look forward to. I can't wait to be in onederland again. It's been way too long! I'm excited to be so close....even if my front butt gets to stay around for it.
