I need a good eating plan...I'm turning into a creature of habit...help!

I am hoping to get some ideas from all of you on what you are eating these days? I am 8 weeks post op today and find I am getting so bored with the same foods I keep eating. I lost quite a bit of weight in the beginning and now I am losing 1 - 2 lbs a week, which I am just fine with. But I wonder if I could lose more if I eat differently? Am I eating the wrong foods? I am very in tune with my body and once I start feeling an inkling of being full, I stop.

These are the things I tend to eat:

Yogurt (sometimes)

Cottage cheese (sometimes)

String Cheese (usually one a day or every other day)

tuna

Salmon

Sardines

chicken meatballs (a couple of times)

Soup

Deli meats

eggs

Protein Shake (here and there)

Rotisserie chicken (because it's moist, no skin)

Pringles 100 calorie pack (have had 2 since my doctor cleared me at week 5 for all foods)

Peanut Butter (maybe 2 tbs twice)

Shrimp

Sushi (doesn't agree with me right now) so sad about this... :(

And I think that's about. I love salad, but I haven't tried it because I am pretty scared of it getting stuck right now. I haven't eaten much vegetables either, because by the time I am done with the Protein I am pretty full. I kind of feel like a creature of habit at this point and feel I need some other suggestions.

Can you give me examples of what a typical day would be for you? Any information is appreciated!

Thank you everyone!

Congratulations on your success! It looks like you need to spice things up with different sauces and spices!

You can eat similar foods with different spices and have completely different meals.

For example:

Cottage cheese + italian seasonings + garlic powder

Cottage cheese + Herbes de provence + tarragon

Cottage cheese + cumin + cilantro

chicken + italian seasonings + garlic + alfredo sauce

chicken + soy sauce + ginger + cilantro + PB2 + coconut milk

Chicken + low fat cheddar + low carb BBQ Sauce

Chicken + cumin + chilid powder + cilantro + hot sauce + low fat cheddar + low fat sour cream

eggs + tarragon + feta

eggs + cumin + chili powder + low fat cheddar + salsa

eggs + garlic powder + cottage cheese + pepper

I find that low carb recipes tend to work really well with the sleeve. Just keep the fat moderate along with the carbs. Sites like lowcarbfriends.com provide many great recipes that you can easily tweek for the sleeve. Also check out bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com for more great recipe ideas!

Best of luck to you!

I'm 6 weeks post op and have been making dinner this week. Monday Tilapia with Ponzu and squash with tomatoes. I also made shrimp with a side of pintos. 97% fat free ham with a side of navy Beans. Trying to up the Protein and get more veggies in. I am still cooking them mushy and have had no issue. good luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
