My surgery is on 1/26! Excited it is finally almost here. I have been waiting almost a year! Been through a month of eating my favorite foods for the last time, and looking forward to new healthy favorites. Nervous about complications, although rare, I just worry ????. Only a few friends and family know what I am doing, so a little anxious about telling people, especially my parents. My husband, children and a few close friends are very supportive. Looking forward to a happy and healthy new year!!

My doctor's office has a pre-surgery class that you have to attend before they do surgery. It is about 2.5 hours long. From what the paper work said, they tell you everything you have to do when you get home from what you need as far as food to what to do with meds. I was a little concerned with all the meds I take, so I have been calling my general practitioner and asking her about some of my meds. She told me I could crush some of them until I got of of them or whatever was decided to do with them. I hope some of them go away. It is shocking to see so many meds when I just turned 38 and when I go to the doctor I get 2 pages of medications. WOW!

I'm in : ) I go for my pre surgery testing on January 7 soooo excited this has been a long process but I'm almost there don't really know what's this appointment is for but if anyone would like to share their experiences and how long after this did they have their surgery I would love to read up on it thanks

January 5th here....worried about everything ....excited about everything!!! LOL

Gaaaaah!

My date got moved from 1/22 back to 1/15 this morning! I'm mostly excited and nervous but I just gotta change all my plans, resubmit FMLA paperwork, yadda yadda yadda! A week and day left....

Good thing I went ahead and started that pre-op diet on the 1st!

That's crazy! How did everything go at work? Did you change positions (new site?) like you talked about was maybe gonna happen?

My job change did happen. It's nice to work for a big company because "the company" (via HR) does all the handling of FMLA paperwork and LOA timing, but it's still hard on my little worker-bee work ethic is struggling with having taken a new job and immediately left it for 6-8 weeks. Can't be helped, but it's one more thing to feel guilty about.
