  1. Hi I'm a week post bypass and am wondering if I'm doing enough exercise, I'm pottering around the house and taking the dog on short 15 min walks 3 times a day, should I be doing more? Is it safe?
  2. Had my op on 7th jan 2015 was home on 9th of jan and just had paracetamol for pain relief, the only pain I really felt was the dredded gas pain, i slept in my own bed the 1st night home ( very uncomfortably ) the main problem I've had is tiredness and anxiety by hyperventilating none stop since I went in for the op, but it's starting to ease a little each day. Just had the war wound dressings taken off yesterday and all is healing good, just the water is a nightmare, trying to sip 2ltr a day is a task and a half & I'm going out a few times a day on short dog walks... Going off the subject a bit here lol, but sleeping now is a lot better. ????
  3. Still in pain, both gas and surgery pain and been up all night with my usual anxiety and hyperventilating, just on paracetamol for pain relief although I was given morphine in recovery yesterday at 6:00pm, so not feeling great at the mo.

  10. Just wondering what I can expect the 1st night after my opp, will I be aware of anything like for example: will I be awake enough for tv? Will I even feel like it? And visitors, is there any point in anyone coming to see me?
  11. At my pre assessment I seen a nurse who basically asked me some health questions, discussed my recent blood sample, took my hight, weight, blood pressure & had an ECG.

  22. Hi all, I'm really worried about coming round from anaesthetic having sleep apnea as I have a habit of removing my mask when I'm asleep, anyone got any advice please?
  23. Thanks for your advice and personal experiences everyone, it has helped me a lot, the only thing that's really freaking me out now is the opp itself, the being put to sleep bit, and with having sleep apnea I'm afraid of taking my mask off when I'm still under the effects of the anaesthetic as it's very rare I can keep the mask on now without taking it off in my sleep, anyone else have this problem?
  24. I'm due to have my surgery Jan 7th and I'm petrified, both of the opp and post opp, I know my eating habits need to change but can you have the rare treat of say french bread? Or steak (grilled of course) just that all I've seen in this forum is talk of puréed foods and not how anyone can tolerate certain solid foods, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx ????
  25. My surgery is 7th jan and I'm 4 day in to my pre op diet, absolutely petrified about the op ???? (uk)
