Well I am on the losers bench now. Had my surgery yesterday and I have to say the worst thing I am dealing with is the gas. That pain is something bad but gets better little by little

Woohoo! Welcome to the bench you loser!

1/19 date and im battling a head cold!!! Anyone know the rules for surgery when you're sick?

What's a belly binder for? I have one that goes around my gut/apron to hold everything in as I lose... But should I have one to wear up higher near my incisions?

@@cab127 It's good to be home isn't it. Glad to hear you're keeping down fluids. I was worried about that too but it hasn't been much of a problem. Just remembering to constantly sip every few minutes is the challenge.

I was doing pretty good until last night when I was faced with Constipation. Unbelievable. I'm drinking Water as much as I possibly can and taking all the Senokot and Colasce that they told me too but still, this is awful. I just had my dear hubby go out this morning to buy Milk of Magnesia. I hope that makes it easier. All part of the journey I guess and this too "shall pass" sometime soon I hope! :(

Thin-for-kidney, doing well. Still in hospital. Surgeon is conservative and likes to have all her patients tolerating meds orally. And tolerating a full liquid diet before leaving. I'm like when is the last time I just laid around and relaxed and took care of myself???

@MissforMimi lol I hear ya!! I know I will be in the hospital from wed1-28 to sat 1-31 it appears that I'm a "special" case as I'm on dialysis for my kidneys, as for me in just glad I'm not getting discharged a day after surgery as that supposedly is getting more and more common!! I mean come on, we all just had major surgery not like we just gave birth, I want to know that I am totally OK with EVERYTHING before I go home, right??!!!!????

With all that said, (grin) I'm glad your doing well!! Keep me posted

thin-for-kidney, there is no way under the sun I was going home the day after. Let those nurses and technicians take good care of you. If you leave on a Saturday. You'll be able to get all your meds. The hospital pharmacy is closed on Sunday and not many pharmacies have liquid oxycodone. Or whatever they will want you to leave on...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
