It's safe to say that not many people lose weight on the week of Thanksgiving. But I'm going to lose weight this week!! Who's with me?

Actually since my surgery and basic diet changes......Thanksgiving is the one holiday I am pretty much, permanently crossing off my list of holiday celebrations. ;)

Gonna eat turkey and green Beans, maybe a deviled egg later. No dessert, but Monday December 1st is my birthday, so I am going to have 1/24th of a New York Cheesecake, about 110 calories.

My mindset is that I am going for the company, not the food. I am bringing a spaghetti squash bake, so I have something to eat with my turkey...

I make parmesan chips to eat with hummus or salsa...now I have to make a BUNCH, everyone loves them :)

I sure hope to lose something! I have been stuck losing and gaining the same 2 pounds for 2 weeks! Not really worried about the dinner because I can only eat a little. It's just one day folks!

I don't know if I will or not. My parents scale is calibrated differently than mine is back in Chicago. It might tell me I've gained. It's a jerk. But no, really... I guess I won't know until I go back home!

I'm going to loose weight this week! As I mentioned in another thread, I am competing with one of my mini poodles on friday-sat-sun in a dog agility competition. That's the sport where you run with you dog through an obstacle course. I'm volunteering at the show as well, so will be constantly on my feet, running around, helping out. I can't wait! I'm hoping for my fastest times yet with the pooch! I bought 2 new tee shirts for the occasion (large - not 2X as I would have a few months ago); one says "my best friends have hairy legs", the other says "Alpha Bitch"! I want everyone to know that I'm a classy lady ;)

@@MeAndTinyTina OMG, I want a shirt that says "My best friends have hairy legs"! I love my 2 shelter mutts. They just got their companion dog certification. I'm going to work on the 2nd level next. Not as intense as agility but it sure is fun. Good luck this weekend, I hope you win.

Back from the feast at my sister's house. Definitely was a "head game" -- my eyes and head wanted everything, but my real, inner self did not! I stuck to the plan- turkey, veggies, and one treat - a small glass of white wine. I have never posted photos before, but my little niece took these tonight (with the dogs) and the ones without the dogs were last Thanksgiving. @@*Lexie*, I'm not sure what companion dog certification is? Please explain! Both my poodles are rescues too. The older one (7 years old) was pulled out of a hoarder's house with about 30 other poodles - dead and alive. Was about 1 when I got him and in horrible shape. Now he's a superstar. My little girl (18 months) was left in a cardboard box in front of a Walmart when she was 8 weeks old. Wasn't sure she was a poodle, but after a few months and a haircut - she sure was! So now I have a pair. Agility was one of my biggest motivators for the surgery. I'll never be able to run as fast as the dogs, but I really did need to be considerably faster to keep up with these two! My first agility dog (RIP Sweet Pea :P) was a very slow Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, so running fast wasn't as necessary. To those of you who need more motivation -- rescue a dog! It will give you someone to walk with! I got my first dog at age 40 after a small stroke. While I was very overweight my whole life, having a dog kept me from getting totally out of control, and did keep me mobile, despite the weight and the bad knees. When you live in a condo, you have to walk the dog. No opening the door and letting them out. I always say that I have rescue dogs - because they rescued me!

So these aren't before and after photos - more like before and now! Can't wait for the photo next Thanksgiving!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
