2 weeks since surgery and not hungry

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I had my surgery 11/10 and right now I am on mushy food. In the mornings I have a Protein Shake, snack Greek yogurt and lunch tuna and Soup. Some nights I have a little baked fish. But honestly I don't think about food at all. My doctor wants me to have my first fill on 12/5 and I am scared of the tightness. Do you think I show postpone it until I start feeling hungry?

I was not hungry at all until at least 6 weeks. I went ahead with my first fill. It was only 1cc, so it wasn't much restriction. My doctor only does fills every 4 -6 weeks so putting off the first would really slow progress. The "not hungry feeling" will go away for most people, so I would go ahead with the fill.

I'd go ahead with the first fill. My doc also does them once every 4 - 6 weeks. You may not be thinking about food as much now, but by the time you go in for your next fill, more food will be able to make it through the band. Especialy if you are eating Soup AND mushies.

I now have 3.5cc's in my band ..... and I think I should have waited a little longer for that last .5cc's. I'm supposed to see him again in December, and I'm *not* getting a fill then. Instead, I'll spend the rest of November and all of December on mostly mushies. If I'm still having issues when I see him again in January, then I'll have him remove that last .5cc's. So .. it's about listening to your body just as much as it's about following the rules. And now .. I'm rambling ....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
