Hi! I'm 54, and am 9 weeks out. I've lost 48 lbs and feel amazing. I have 52 pounds to goal. I just started exercising seriously this week, and am feeling amazing! I'd love to chat with you and get support!

P.S. I should also say I had the bypass when I discovered I was 100 pounds overweight and was overwhelmed at the thought of losing that much weight. I'm 5'10", so people kept telling me that I didn't look that overweight. But I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea and anemia. I knew I wanted to be healthy. So here I am and couldn't be happier!

Hi I am 58 yrs old and had my bypass surgery August 8th almost 4 months out . I have lost 56lbs. So far and feel really good. Only thing I am struggling with is exercise! Would love to keep in touch with our progress.

Congrats all! What protein do u guys use?

I drink Premiere Protein shakes. Each shake has 30 grams of protein, and they are pretty good. (160 calories.)

I use premiere protein as well I love it I drink it between breakfast and lunch

I am 57 and 9 months post op. I have lost 110 pounds since this whole journey started and am about 5 pounds from my goal. I have never liked the ready made protein drinks but make my own, using recipes from the Bariatric Foodie Cookbook.

I am 56 years old and had surgery Dec 8. I had a rough go my bowels stopped working and I just got out of the hospital yesterday Dec 13. Please tell me it gets better I am struggling with fluids, protein, pain, and weakness

I'd love to join in! I'm 58. For the moment :-) My birthday is at the end of the month. I am 4 days post op and am feeling surprisingly good! No weight loss yet. I have my first post-op appointment on the 17th. My PA thinks I'll be out of the morbidly obese category by then. I'm not holding my breath! Maybe by my 2nd appointment on the 24th:-)

It will get better it took me a long time to feel better and to admit that I made the right decision. It was 4 months on the 8th of December and I am down 60lbs I feel really good just remember to get as much protein Ina's you can it will get easier as time goes on..it's very hard in the beginning hang in there !

Thanks for the encouragement. I needed it. I'm feeling a little better but still struggling with gas and getting in enough fluids.

I am 51 and 9 days out! Everything is going well for me. Let's be a support group for each other!
