Well the 4 hr course is the introduction to the bariatric surgery department. There will be guest speakers from the surgeons and dieticians. They will weight you, then tell you what you need to do next. I guess during that time they will also give you your next appointment. They mentioned it could be that day or another time.

When I go, I will have more info to share.

What part of northern california? I am in the sacramento area

Have you noticed any changes in what you eat? Like certain foods, healthy foods, that you can no longer eat because they upset your stomach?

I took two weeks off but could have easily gone back in a week. I have a job that isn't physically demanding though. I was also very lucky and have had zero complications.

I did the two hour introductory surgery class and talked to my pcp. He said he sent a referral in to the bariatric department. I'm a bit confused with this process especially since reading the process of different heath care providers and Kaiser regions.

I did the 2 hour class, then got the referral from my primary care doctor for the next step. It took about 2-3 weeks in order for that department to give me a call. After the first week of hearing nothing, I contacted my primary care doctor and asked if he knew what the timeframe was or if he heard anything. He gave me the number to the south sacramento facility and I called. The lady who I spoke to on the phone says it takes a few weeks because they go over your chart first to make sure if you are approved. Once you are conditionally approved, they call you to set up the 4 hr class.

I hope this is helpful

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
