Anyone use Barker Bariatric in Dallas, TX?

Recommended Posts

I started the process last year and got approved but lost my job and was unable to continue the process. they move pretty quickly. It all depends on how long it takes to complete the steps your insurance requires. As soon as that's done they will submit it to insurance for approval. I have insurance again and am starting the process again. Thankfully i don't have to do the supervised diet over again. I just cant decide on sleeve or bypass.

I used Barker in Dallas. My first appointment with him was February 22, 2014. And after all the requirements my insurance approved it by April 20,2014 and surgery was May 7, 2014. The staff, doctors and nurses at Forest Park were AMAZING!! Wish you the best!!!

Thank you so much for responding. I got approved for the bypass. My date is May 4th. I've been thinking about it a lot and I'm leaning more towards the sleeve. I hope its not too late to change my mind. I'm going to ask them about it tomorrow. Thanks again

I used short term disability and was only out 4 weeks. Only because of the lifting requirements on my job.

Oh ok. My job requires no lifting at all. I'm sitting at a desk all day. I think i should be fine. I hear people saying that your energy level is pretty low initially. Hoping i can push through and go back to work sooner than later.

You will get tired easy the first month but that's common after any surgery. I know the first couple weeks back at work I would come home exhausted & take a nap. But it went away after about 6 weeks out. I bet you will do great!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
