9 days out after surgery. Be good to yourself you are healing. You will feel better.

Think back to all the reasons you have for the surgery. Think about the small goals you are about to reach. This is so worth it.

You are still very early on in the whole process, and it does get better, I promise! Make sure you get all your liquids in and your Vitamins and Protein. dehydration and lack of Protein will make you feel yuck too. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

It is super hard to sleep. Do not be in pain. Ask for pain meds to take at night if you are not taking them. You are in the middle of the hardest time. At 14 days, my pain lessened and I felt better. But it took 30 days to really feel better, physically and emotionally. But then comes the solid food battle... What works, what doesn't. Keep your eye on the prize. By Christmas you'll feel a lot better. In three months you will have lost a bunch of weight and will really be rocking along. Be good to yourself while your body heals. Rest as much as you can. And don't worry. What you feel is normal.

Honestly at that point, I would lean towards it being the anesthesia. For some reason I didn't have any issues this time, but every other time I've been under general anesthesia, I've felt worn out and blue for about 3 or 4 weeks afterwards.

Everyone is so right. It's just too soon. Took me 4-5 weeks to feel well n then I started on solids which is another adjustment.

I go on the before and after threads when I am feeling down, frustrated, or tired , it is amazing at everyone's results !!!

So hard to do, but try and focus long term, looking at the big picture???? you're prob gonna have lots of these moments, but we are all here to help each other and pick each other up when 1of us is down.

Can't wait to see your before and after pic !!!! Good luck !

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
