Phyl - I went to Victoria with my mom one year and had to push her everywhere in a wheelchair:confused_smile:....Victoria as a whole is not very handicap friendly!!! However, it is gorgeous. We would love to do a cruise...but not until after all the medical is paid off :thumbdown:for me or DH gets a better/second job.

As for me...I ran 11 straight miles yesterday:thumbup:...and I have the battle wounds to prove it.

You're doing so well with your workouts and training!! I'm impressed and we're all proud of you for your efforts. Amazing what you are accomplishing!

Did you know you can get an Alaska cruise out of Seattle for $699!?? Good price. Last stop is Victoria on all that I know of... Norwegian, Holland America, Celebrity, Princess all follow about the same routes. Holland America I think is the only one that stops in Sitka instead of Skagway. Skagway has an amazing train ride that you can take up in to the mountains but I can't remember what it's called. We've taken it twice and it's an unforgettable trip. We've done two Alaska cruises, one on Celebrity and one on Norwegian and we're thinking about going again in the next couple of years.

Phyl - You did good on the food issues - 1 piece of choc is what a normal person would do - not really you did better

I have 8th grade graduation tonite - it's messing with my exercise - graduation is 7 but gd has to be there at 6;15 - plus you gotta get a seat - may just go exercise for til 5 30 - can't beleived i am saying I hate missing my exercise

Yeah, that chocolate was wonderful, but did have to fight the urge to go back and buy another one the next day. If I stay completely away from chocolate (except for my Calcium chews), I'm fine, but just a little bit can set up the craving again.)

One of our GDs graduated HS last Fri and the one here on Wed. Looking forward to that and she's back on good terms with her parents and planning to move back home in a couple of weeks. We're happy about that.

TOPS weigh in I was up 1/4 lb!! But, I figured with the 3 days in Victoria, that was not so bad. DH was up 3 1/2 I think!! I will have it off in no time and should have a good loss next week. I did 54 minutes on Wii tonight and some other unplanned exercise!! Took about a 2 hr scooter ride around the nieghborhood on batteries I knew were marginal. (DH ordered new ones today). So I made it back as far as the condo driveway when it quit! So I had to walk it up our steep driveway and then completely turn off the motor and pull the clutch and push it down to our building. A neighbor I never saw before was walking back from the clubhouse and offered to help me. DH was off getting the oil changed on our car. Of course, he showed up just as we got to our unit! I was huffing & puffing & sweating by then! So.. a good exercise day.

Not only did DD tell me I was getting too skinny, she told me she was proud of me. That she didn't believe I had it in me. I looked over at DH and saw him snickering. So I told her that that was okay, her dad didn't think I had it me either. And he admitted it. It feels so great to prove them wrong.

HAVE A GREAT DAY, STAY COOL AND GET YOUR Water IN.

Congrats on your success!!

Good to get those compliments!

NO problem staying cool here. My scooter ride... I had on sweat pants, t-shirt, sweatshirt, fleece jacket, headband on my ears, and even gloves for a while! High was about 52 degrees today! Another new LOW high temp for the day, I'm sure!

Rain for a while, too, of course.

:tongue:Good Morning Gang

I had GD graduation last night - then dinner (black sea bass so good have 1/2 for dinner tonight) so it was a long night - I didn't get my training in - time line just wouldn't allow it - I gotta go tonite and do my cardio - but am really tired - didn't get home until after 10:30 then had some drama (between son & GS) so I didn't get to bed until after midnite.

I need to make resesrvations - where are we staying - i gotta do it in the next day or 2 - Phyl - what's the name of the hotel

Whos going - phyl - linda - steph - peaches - me - Jackie????

Phyl - that 1/4 lbs will be off by this afternoon - heck I got on the scale last nite 154.5 - this morning 151.5 - none of these count but just goes to show that our weights fluctuate so much..

Linda- you really have a full plate - by 6/15 my house will be back to just me and GS and my 2 little babies - I can't wait... I don't like a lot of commontion - I have been out of my routine for about a month now and I can't wait til it get back to normal - this weekend going up north to take gd home - her other gm is coming - then next weekend home - then 6/27 leave for vegas. then maybe 7/4 back up north - who knows - I am playing that one by ear and see how I feel -

Oh the thing about your sis - how sad that she missed dd graduations - I am glad she is doing better.

Ruby - great on the exercise and looking at that cake - you are a stronger woman than me - I don't pig out like I use to but - i still will take little slivers here and there... Which as we all know adds up...

Kari

Yep it's been a little quite here - last yr at this time we were using up 10 pages in one day

Jackie

Hey girl - we miss you..

Karri - only couple more days of school - then BD then TT - What day is the marathon??? This old lady forgets - but 2 out of three isn't bad

Ok gotta ck desk - cbl

The hyperventilating has got me run ragged. I went to bed at 5:30 last night. It is so exhausting when you feel like you are not getting enough oxygen. I have tried all of the home remedies and techniques that they showed me when this happened a couple of summers ago. However it just isn't going away. I thought maybe I was dehydrated, or exhausted but after drinking over a gallon of Water each of the last 2 days and then going to bed before 6:30 each of the last 2 days...the symptoms still have not gotten any better. In fact...they are worse. I think it is most likely anxiety and I have been avoiding medication, but at this point they symptoms are interferring with my job and my life. I hate eating because it makes the breathing worse...running seems to be the only thing that doesn't make it worse!

Oh for the weigh in day I was only down 0.5 pounds so I stayed at 1800 calories. It looks like that number is holding for now. Next couple of weeks I will be doing double workouts so I may have to increase them again. I am going to drop down to between 1300-1500 when I have surgery since I won't be exercising at all.

Okay so the dates are as follows:

Last Day with students: June 12

Last Day at work: June 13

Half-marathon: June 28

Birthday : July 1

Surgery: July 3

I haven't even thought about the surgery to be honest...I have been so focused on the half-marathon instead. That is exactly what I wanted. I have my pre-op on June 16. We are going camping this weekend and then to graduation at my old school. Sunday will then be my longest run until the half-marathon. 12 straight miles.

Well I had best get back to baby sitting these kids. They are taking their last test of the year for me.

I knew the bday & tt date:biggrin2: - I won't be back from vegas til sunday evening so I will ck in then to see how you did (I don't have a laptop )

Congrat on the 1/2 lbs and no bigger number - I am glad that you are getting more stable in your weight & calorie issues - I know the stress it was causing you... I know that you need to get it stable before surgery and not lose any more.. This morining my unoffical weight ws 151.5 - I really want to be 150 by the time I go to vegas - I really want to say I lost 100 lbs... I am totally fine where I am now - I have 6's & 8's and even got 1 size 4 :lol: it's those jeans that I got in my 1st 8 and then my 1st 6 and now 4 - they were only $7.99 last pair on sale last weekend - so I can say I have a 4  love it...

Camping sounds more fun than my long drive (7-8 hrs) up north - but it will be good to see my sister - she hasn't seen me since November so she will be shocked..

Schools here don't do anything the last 2 weeks of school...

Ok I really got to get to work ...

yeah the whole doing nothing for the last 2 weeks of school is a big pain in my backside because MY students work all the way until the end and it causes major problems when everyone else is showing videos. Pisses me off to no end! Then they don't want to work in here.

okay off my soap box.

Congrats on the size 4s. it is amazing. I put on a pair of pants today that are a size 10 and when I accidentally stepped on the leg, they came off. Decided I can't wear those any more. Too risky for my job!

Homewood Suites/Mall of America.... make sure you get the right one.

Yes, scale will go down today. Lots of exercise yesterday and it was a busy day. Not much sitting around time.

It's SO COLD here! It's ridicuous. Supposed to break another record today for LOWEST high of the day temp since I don't know when. Yesterday it broke a record from 1894... not 1984... 1894!! I think the highest it got was about 52 degrees! It's 49 right now at 9:30 a.m. and snow at 2500 ft last night.

I'm heading out on my scooter anyway.. with my umbrella and all bundled up with sweatshirt, warm jacket, etc. because I have a hair appointment across the street that I waited two weeks for!

Later....

Phyl - We are having below average temps on the other side of the mountains as well. We still get to see the sun but not very often. Last night while I was laying in bed hyperventilating and NOT sleeping the wind was whipping! It has rained several times in the last week and on the high desert that is apparantly rare. Funky, funky weather. I am actually hoping for a cool summer (I know frown at me) but because I am going to be in the compression binder for who knows how long... I don't want 100 degree weather.

Going to immediate care after school today. I can't handle the hyperventilating any more and the doc can't see me until Thursday. I just don't think that I can wait that long...I have been waiting for this to go away for the last 2 weeks.

Hope you get that hyperventilating problem worked out! Probably partly an anxiety issue. That has got to be annoying and frightening.

Wind here took out the electricity in some areas last night. And it took out the portable plastic floor they put down at Husky Stadium for the U of WA graduation ceremony Saturday! Snaps together like Legos. Damaged some of it so they have a crew trying to put it back together again by Saturday! Snow in Snoqualmie Pass and down to the 2500 ft level. More snow expected tonight. Day Hikers on Mt. Rainier being rescused today, one fatality.

They got caught in a blizzard.

This month being officially renamed JUNUARY!!

Thanks... cropped it and then took me the last hour to reinsert it! Resizing is difficult and then to get it to upload!! Got my hair done today so figured a good day for a new photo. Should've added some makeup and earrings! With my hair that short I need earrings. New stylist for me, and I like what she did. About double what I usually pay, but okay. Not Wal-Mart prices!!:biggrin2:

YAY!! SIX more weeks until our M of A trip! I'm looking forward to that! We leave here on the 23rd, arrive the 25th, in the morning, I think, and leave early A.M. Monday for Chicago and on to Buffalo.

Phyl, I swear you look younger each time you post a new pic! You're looking fantastic. :grouphug:

I'm having a blah day. Aunt Flo came to town this morning. She only hung around for a couple of hours last month, but she's making up for it this time around. The only time the cramps seem to ease up is when I'm exercising. I almost didn't go to the gym this morning because the cramps were pretty bad, but I trudged up there. After a couple of minutes I was feeling good again. But once I got back home and sat down to rest, the cramps came back. :behindsofa: I took some Tylenol but made the mistake of washing it down with my son's cold orange juice instead of room temp Water. Well not only did the juice taste awfully sweet and make me screw my face up, but the cold temperature tightened up my band and sat there for a good 20 minutes.

Good news on the chocolate cake front though. It's still sitting on my counter and I haven't heard as much as a whisper from it. Usually something like that would be screeching for my attention. Especially during Aunt Flo's visit. But I'm really not interested in it. I don't know who I am anymore.

I thought my muscles would be achey today from last night's workout, but so far so good. No complaints there.

It's been warm here for quite some time now. I'm not going to talk too much about it because I know some of you are still experiencing winter, but I think it's helping me keep on top of my water intake.

Hey Denise, how are things going with the TT? I'm anxious to hear news from you. Obviously I don't want you posting if you're not up to it, but I can't wait to hear all about it. :biggrin2:

I'm off to aikido again tonight. I'm really enjoying it. It's probably the biggest reason my mental health has improved so much. I'm looking at things differently. I'm looking at ME differently and liking what I find.

Now if only I could get rid of these stomach cramps........

I remember those days!! I used to get really awful cramps!! There are some advantages to this aging process!!

I thought would have sore muscles today, too. I did a lot of those Wii balance exercises last night until the calves of my legs were aching. But, no soreness today. I guess they're getting used to it! The balance exercises are my favorites... especially the tilt table.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
