Should my weight be at a stand still?

Recommended Posts

Hello WLS family I'm new here. I had my sleeve on 10/28 and my start weight was 294 after my pre-op I was 281 day of surgery. 5 days after surgery I was and still is 270. I'm only doing Water, Protein, (not the full 60) and broth. So why would I not be losing weight? Anyone have this problem?

Classic stall. We all stall. Sometimes stalls can last days, or weeks. Sometimes you will gain and lose the same 5 lbs for a couple weeks. And then when you think you are a big failure who cannot follow instructions, the weight starts to fall off again. Typically we all still a couple weeks after we get sleeved. I stall out every month, right around my period, and gain a bunch of Water. It sucks balls. But it is reality.

You just had major surgery. Your body is still recovering and adjusting. It is pretty normal to see little to no loss at first (some even gain Water weight). But as you heal, and start hitting your water and Protein goals, you will see some results. Hang in there.

Congrats on your 24 pounds!!! That is great! Ur body is still adjusting. It's kinda storing everything u eat right now because it thinks u are starving. It will all even out. I was 275, hit 265 day of surgery 10/23 and down to 249 today which is 2 weeks post op. That's 26 pounds in 3 weeks. That's what I keep telling myself. Even when I don't see movement. So be proud. 24 pounds is a lot and there will be a lot more! Keep ur chin up.

My cousin received her sleeve 3+years ago. She advised that stalls are normal. If she hit a stall or even noticed a gain she would revert back to clear liquid for a week them full liquid and walk through the step up to full food. It was a break in the normal and would kick her body back into the program. Just a thought that might help others. Best of loosing to you!

I am one month post op and I seem to stall alot. I started out 292 and im down to 259 but that number moves up and down all the time. It seems I stall so often it drives me crazy. I wish I knew if I was doing everything corretly or am I causing the stalls when you find a answer please let me know.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
