Ok tomorrow is 1 week post surgery. I have been back at work, modified, for 2 days... I have karate chopped, I have done it all... and every night my left shoulder and peck keeps aching. I am able to pass gas and I have heard the motto don't trust a fart.

Will this really end at some point?

Does having the band mean I will be flatulent for the rest of my life?

Should I buy stock in GasX?

Ummm .... yeeeeaaaahhh. Gas-X is my best friend anymore. Also ... your tummy will start making growling sounds even when you aren't hungry. Be prepared for that. I didn't believe that it would happen, but it has and does.

And are you saying you still use gas x? Sorry but your sentence was confusing...

Mine was bad for about 2 weeks....now 2 months post op I am about back to normal. My stomach does still growl about every three days or so and it is pretty loud, but I just ignore it.

It will end (ish). What I mean is it will get much, much better. But, you'll have more gas than you did pre-band. I burp more than the other end. Which my teenage boys find fantastic. Good luck!

I have been fortunate to have never experienced the shoulder pain at all. I did and still do have lots of gas almost 3 months post op. My surgeon had me sleep in an upright position for 3 weeks to avoid developing the shoulder pain. I truly believe that is why I did not get the shoulder pain. I also started walking minimum 2 miles a day right away starting with the first day out of surgery. My surgeon is very aggressive but it has helped me????????????

Had my surgery today. I was also instructed to sleep in an upright position. No shoulder pain at all yet. But I have had a little gas that's immediately relieved by the gasx strip. I guess I'll be keeping those in my purse for awhile.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
