Today is the first day of my pre-op diet! I cannot believe time is going so quickly. I am on this diet until my surgery date November 20th! I am doing 4 Protein Shakes and one small meal which equals about 1000 calories. The headache is horrible today! I am not sure if I can do another 13 days of this. Then I think what will I feel like after surgery when I'm only drinking Protein shakes. IF the headaches go away I think I will be fine. Hoping tomorrow I feel better and not so tired and sluggish. Am I the only one feeling this way? I hope not. :)

Hi Sandy, I am on my second day of the pre-op diet and I understand what you are talking about. I feel pretty weak today but I didn't get enough calories in yesterday. I am trying harder today. Wish I could have some meat! I heard after the third day it gets easier. I really hope so. My surgery is Wednesday the 12th. Good luck to you!

My surgery is Nov 19, the headache is horrible. I am on the same type of diet, 4 shakes and eggs or chicken and veg for dinner. To make things worse, I am getting a head cold that is moving into my chest. I am trying so hard not to get worse. I don't want my surgery to get postponed. Really worried ????

I am struggling today the weekends are really hard. I do better during the work because I'm at work and I'm very busy. To make things worse "Big Red" is coming, plus I have been sick. I just got finish telling myself you can do this, so I got up and got a Protein Drink. I want a bag of chips so bad right now. It is a mind thing. If I get to hungry, I have been eating eggs or broth with white chicken meat in it.

Hey hang in there L dimples. You will be so happy if you do and so will your surgeon. The surgeon's job is easier if your liver shrinks and you lose fat around your abdominal cavity. Just keep your goals in sight and take it one minute at a time, if necessary. I found that when I thought that I might break my fast, then I'd drink a liter of Water and wait 30 minutes. If I was still hungry, then I'd eat. I never ate and I never broke my fast. You can too!!! :-)

Hi Ldimples. I hope you are doing well today! I sort of fell of the wagon over the weekend and went a little crazy with guacamole and chips Saturday night. We've been going out every weekend for dinner with friends. This weekend I thought I would have more control having them over and me cooking dinner. Those snack foods get me every time. Luckily I didn't gain any weight! Back at it full force today. We can do it!!! :) I just looked at the weather channel and it shows up until the 19th. Tomorrow will show my surgery day!!! So excited!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
