Hello,

I have been on a roller coaster for if I will be able to get the sleeve surgery (funding). After many hoops, I have been approved and the nurse called me this morning to schedule surgery. It felt surreal.

Now that it is REAL, I am nervous about my choice. When I look at the pros and cons on paper, there is no other logical choice.

Is there someone out there with a BMI of 30-35 that can tell me that they have not looked back?

If you poke around this forum, you'll find hundreds, if not thousands of folks who would not look back. I count myself among them. I'm 4 months out from surgery and my BMI has dropped from 42.8 to 29.9. My diabetes and apnea are gone, as is my weight-related asthma. And I expect to get off cholesterol and BP meds at my next doctor's appointment. I eat healthy, get regular exercise, get compliments on how I look, and feel great! Almost everybody is nervous once the date is scheduled. That's perfectly normal. I love my sleeve and so far, have never looked back. You will too!

Hi fellow Idahoan! Dr Korn did my surgery in August! I was right on the cusp of BMI (like 39 when I had my surgery). What you ate going through is completely normal. Ultimately, when it's all said and done, and you are a couple months out like I am, you will be very happy you did the surgery. Fear, denial and regret is all part of the process...especially before and even weeks after. But as soon as you start seeing that weight come off and you start feeling really good, you will be so glad you did it! I promise! Good Luck and good healing for your upcoming surgery! Message me if you want to talk more :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
