October 2014 sleevers check in please!

  • Popular Post

Hey everyone! I just wanted to keep in touch with everyone on the postop boards now that most of us are done and in a few more days the remainder of us October sleevers will be done as well.

How is everyone doing? Feel free to share any problems, suggestions, recipes that helped you get your Protein in, and any other advice you'd like to share. Ask questions, if you have them. Use this thread as you see fit, but mostly to keep in touch with everyone.

I know quite a few people went to the Facebook page. I know it's private, but I've seen cases where private information was temporarily made public on Facebook by Facebook glitches/viruses/hacks. I know there is no intention of it going public but I rather not take the risk.

So I hope to hear from you all soon!!

Best wishes and good luck!

@ sorry. I can relate. Have you started working out?

Hi thanks for answering Kathy . I'm not going to lie I sometimes think I am " hungry "but I know it's all in my head . Since I was so used to eating and snacking all the time . I fight it though since I've read most of the time when you think it's a hunger pain it's really thirst .

I get hungry as well but I can drink water and it satisfies me but not as long as eating.

@ sorry. I can relate. Have you started working out?

Umm.

I have just really started to comprehend how different I am starting to look with my weight loss. I've had people tell me that I look great, but I guess I didn't really see it. This week I did...funny how your mind can make you feel so different about yourself!

I was 8 weeks this past Tuesday (10/13) and am down 36 pounds since surgery. Since I started my journey (April), I am down 68 pounds!! All of my progress has been diet related since I am not exercising much with my knee complications. I hope that I can cross that off my list very soon.

Saw my surgeon last week and they thought things looked good also. I have had my share of sliming and nausea, but I have to admit I have a hard time waiting 30 minutes after meals to drink. So we think that is probably the issue. I have learned to stop eating when I feel full which happens so quickly. I can't believe how you can go from full to overfull in literally one bite.

Its been nice to hear how everyone is doing...keep the recipes coming to help me with food boredom!

@@Iowa_summergirl, you are doing so well congratulations on your tremendous weight loss.

By the way, I have found a lot of great recipes, blogs. & Ideas by visiting the recipe thread on BP

@, you are funny. So maybe it's the carbs and not working out, you think? :)

@@Kathy812 I'm sure it is. Does sex count as exercise, perhaps I could put that under Yoga?

@, you are HYSTERICAL! and I'll just leave it at that :/

I'll second that! :-)

Hi all! I'm an October sleever. Had my surgery Oct. 1st and I'm down 50.2 lbs. Started at 227 and as of yesterday i'm 176.8! I have pretty much figured out what I can tolerate and what I can't. I still don't get all my water in no matter how hard I try. I am also experiencing serious food boredom. I have to force myself to eat because I'm just not interested in anything.

Xraymomma

You have done awesome. Was all fifty lost after surgery? How many calories ate you having each day?

@@xraymomma congrats on the phenomenal weight loss! And welcome!

HI everyone!!! Sorry for the tremendous radio silence on my end. For some reason notifications stopped coming into my email so I've been missing out. Just a quick update:

1) still have some food that bothers me, but mostly I'm ok and trying lots of new things

2) I drink ginger ale and Water like it's going out of style; doc said ok to the ginger ale as long as I do it slow and not iced cold

3) tmrw will be 11 weeks post op and I'm ~ 30#s down.

4) just sharing a before and after. The before was from a week or so pre surgery and the post is from today.
