  1. My peak weight in May 2014 was 464. Lost 57 before my surgery on Oct-13 and as of last Monday lost an additional 10 lbs. Curious if anyone out there was or is in my same situation. Ie. ~250 lbs to lose. Thanks, Ken
  2. Ever since my surgery I have been short tempered. I've always been mild natured and it took a lot to make me angry. Now I seem to get angry all the time, go overboard in my reactions, talk and say things I don't mean and all of this leads to extreme guilt and emotional pain. Counselor says I need to give myself a break as my body is in such a state of flux, but its easier said then done.

Has weight loss/surgery turned me crazy?

Haha. My therapist is male but that did make me laugh
  4. Just curious if there are other guys on this board who are on TRT? I have been on TRT since May 2014 and along with my surgery and losing 105 lbs so far, my life is so much better. -Ken
  5. That's great to hear. I've been on it for six months now and I feel normal again. Its like a cloud is lifted. I'm curious if those who are on this forum who are on TRT are that was primarily because of obesity. I'm still trying to determine the root cause as my PCP isn't a specialist is hormones or TRT. Why so you cycle off for a few months? If your hemocrit is high, you can donate blood. I would think cycling off would be a big shock to your system and you would feel like crap.
  6. Is there a reason you went off TRT? Are you trying to get a baseline now that you have lost weight? The period I took off for surgery and a few weeks afterwards was complete hell. I had no energy, no desire to do anything and zero libido and trouble with ED.
  7. It was going great until he asked me about exercise. It was all down hill from there... I know I need to overcome my issues of going to a gym and all the anxiety and self hatred feelings that accompany it. Dr gave me some tough love basically telling me "hey I got what I wanted out of the deal, your all played up right?". OK I get your point. 105 lbs lost since 5-20-2014 -Ken
  8. I was asked to stop taking it for two weeks after surgery. It was also suggested that I inject every 14 days instead of every week. At 6 weeks post op my levels were below baseline. That's when I took a more active role. In the 100 lbs I've lost so far I haven't seen a change in my average level over time. Having said that my body isn't producing testosterone right now so who knows if losing the 100 so far would change my natural levels. -Ken
  9. Recycled, I don't agree with your statement regarding the risks. If you are using a dosage above what is considered replacement, yes there are serious heart and stroke related risks. If you aren't producing testosterone at a normal level, there are real and serious side effects to Low T. Injection based Testosterone replacement to a health normal level for your age is what I'm talking about and is what your body needs to function properly. I do not advocate a do it yourself TRT or over the counter pill based TRT. I've read that pill based TRT can damage your liver. Cheers and Happy New Year! -Ken

    Low T

I would look into TRT more as you can be on TRT and still be fertile. IE. You can take HCG injections with your TRT to protect your fertility and gonad functions. Having said that, there are very serious health risks to having Low T and not treating it.

@@Kathy812 I'm sure it is. Does sex count as exercise, perhaps I could put that under Yoga?

They thought it was funny and yes they know. They are big supporters of it, commenting on how I look, calling me slim and slapping my a$$. Yeah I work with some great people! A lot of people ask me questions, mostly regarding what I can eat, how much weight I've lost, how much I can eat and how I'm recovering.

They did. They kept commenting on how good the donuts tasted with my spit on them. I said everything taste better with a little hepatitis. -Ken

    Thanksgiving Weekend

Since my surgery my tolerance for stressful situations is limited. Tomorrow our plan is to travel a bit to my wife's side of the family for the day. These are people that over the years my relationship with them has been sweet & sour. I'm thinking of sparing them and myself the awkwardness and staying home. Wife and kids will go and have a great time but my wife wants me to come. Do I have an obligation to go? Like myself, I'm sure they will be relieved they don't have to endure a conversation with each other. Why do people force each other on each other? Because of tradition? Am I being a baby, should I suck it up because its the season to set aside differences and come together in sweet bliss and harmony? Maybe we can sing Christmas carols?

Hopefully things turn around for you soon. You should talk to your nutritionist about your gain and stall. I was told that little stalls here and there are normal but I wouldn't consider a three week plateau a stall. Talking to your nutritionist may help you discover the reason your not in a calorie deficit. Best wishes, Ken

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Sure enough, blood in the urine. A CT discovered a small stone. It sure doesn't feel small. I think Dr's who see patients with kidney stones should be given a kick to the balls every 3 minutes while there patient waits for initial visit, urine test, urine test results, discussion over results, waiting to receive pain meds, waiting for them to kick in only to find out they didn't work on me. Got a different shot which worked great. Anyways, this too shall pass. .-Ken

Getting ready to head into the urgent care. Woke up with extreme abdomen, back and groin pain. Almost positive its a kidney stone. I've had them years ago (drank to much mountain dew back in the day) but its a pain you dont forget.
