I am getting my staples removed tomorrow and am a bit apprehensive. Is it painful and do they usually put butterflies over afterward for support that they don't split open?

I never had no staples , this is confusing to me because I never had staples , yes my Surgeon just did the stitches that dissolve , but when I went for x rays for something at my pcp's office can't remember what the X ray's were for but she said oh there's your band , but no mention of staples ever when my Surgeon does the fluro and barium we don't see them so why are they doing staples now , I can't remember anyone having staples , except for my Aunt because that's how they used to do wls they would staple your stomach , I had a few stitches and a few of the clear medical tape on them till they fell off by there selves.

I'm guessing here, but you had "open type surgery" for your lapband?

No staples for my lapband surgery....just some superglue type adhesive, if I recall correctly.

But I had hip surgery with staples ( A LOT OF THEM! ) years ago, and it did not hurt me at all when they removed them.

Best wishes! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
