Can't sleep in my left side - 2 weeks PO

Recommended Posts

Hello my fellow banded beauties! I am struggling with the fact I am simply too sensitive.. sore and uncomfortable at night when I try to sleep!!! I always sleep on my left side, but after the band it's not an option! I just can't do it!!?! Grhh! How long did it take you guys to be able to sleep on your side again? That it even if you had the same issue as me.

Luckily my right feels fine but I go to roll over and no... Not gunna happen!

I remember not being able to sleep on my side. I used pillows to keep from rolling over. Had to sleep on my back and it was tough to get used to. It eventually goes away though. It was a couple of weeks before I could sleep normally. But it will soon be a distant memory! :)

I think it was about 3 weeks to a month before I could lay that way.

I just posted this under another topic, but I'll repeat what I said here too. I had a lot of trouble sleeping for the first couple of weeks due to middle of the night soreness. I couldn't sleep any which way to find comfort. It was causing me even more aggravation the next day when I was sleep deprived, and also freshly post-op. I blew up an air mattress and started sleeping and lounging on that for the first couple weeks. It helped so much. It has much more give and really helped eliminate soreness. I felt like the princess and the pea and could practically feel every spring in my mattress post op. Give the air mattress a try and see if it improves your sleep for a few nights.

Sorry to hear so many of you are uncomfortable. I am six days out and I guess I am lucky, only had the side discomfort for the first few days. No pain other than a little soreness of the incisions that does not require pain meds anymore.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
