Lower-end BMI Sleeve Surgery. Any others?

Hi, all. This is my first post and I'm just completing my first week post surgery. I may be a little unique in that I had sleeve surgery with a lower BMI--32. I've struggled with weight my entire life and always worked out...just can't keep it off. Always hungry and no diet ever seems to work. So I bit the bullet and paid for the surgery myself. It's been remarkably easy so far...I, candidly, am just not hungry. I'm losing about a lb a day, and I'm staying pretty strictly to the liquid diet. My general concern is that I really can't tell anything has happened to me except that I'm not hungry and I am losing weight (which I guess is the greatest outcome possible). I do fear the ease of this will make it very easy to go back to old habits. Anyone else out there with a similar experience?

My BMI was at almost 34 the day of surgery, 35 prior but got approved due to medical reasons... I am 9 months post-op and the weight is coming off very slowly if at all now.. I am 50 lbs down and feel great! I only want to loose 5 more lbs before my 1 year is uo in 3 months. I have noticed that even if you get off track, lowering your carb or calorie intake makes the weight come off easily.

What's your weight

My BMI was 31 on the day of surgery. It's now 26.8. Can't wait until I'm normal BMI!

Wow congrats

My BMI was 31 day of surgery its 29 now 8 wks post op

Self pay

34.5 Bmi. Self pay. But I have an exclusion to any Bariatrics or weightloss procedures/appointments/medications anyways. So co-morbiditues didn't matter. But I do (had) have a couple of them.

I was covered by insurance, comorbidity was pcos symptoms.

Osa and hypertension (both gone now)

Surgery 12/31/14. Self Pay. Height 5'4". Starting Weight 188lbs. BMI=32.3

Today 176lbs and BMI=30.2 (lost 12lbs and 12 days post-op)

Feeling great!

Self pay BMI 37 now 33 lost about 25lbs

Surgery weight was 193 and 5 days post op I am 195!! Ugh! I am sure it is water weight but I was really hoping for a loss when I got home! ???? anyone else gain weight after surgery???

They pump you full of iv fluids in the hospital. It would probably be stranger if you didn't gain a few pounds while there.

Don't worry, give it a few days it will come down, no problem. :)

I didn't even have the energy to step on a scale when I got home lol. Good on ya! But, yes the iv fluid can make you weigh more, plus the inflammation. You will likely see a big change after the first week.
