Any November Sleevers?

I'm so excited about my surgery it can't get here soon enough even though it is on my husbands birthday but that's ok he's fine with it and tells me he's so proud of me for taking that step to better my life even though I've ran into a road block, i had my mammogram last Monday and got called back in for retesting and a ultrasound, so now I'm having to have a biopsy on my right Brest Oct. 16th but the Doctor told me not to get to stressed over it that hopefully it's just a cyst, I have to think positive and pray that it's nothing, I'm new to the site so any more Sleevers input would be greatly appreciated!

Checking in at hospital, anyone else in November getting sleeved at St Mary's of Mi, I am more than ready and my wife has been very supportive through the whole process

Congratulations and good luck..

In terms of pre-op diet...I am starting day 5 today. Not going to say I didn't cheat a little bit, but I'm trying to eat things like...a pack of tuna, or a chicken breast if I do cheat. Unlike others, I have 14 days of LIQUIDS - that is, no veggies or solid protein of any kind (well, I can have a half cup of low fat cottage cheese every day), just 3-4 protein shakes, broth, sugar free jello, and sugar free Popsicles. There are 3 doctors at my hospital and my doctor does the 14 day diet, one doctor does 10 days, the other 3 days. It is one of the hardest things I have ever done, not being able to actually chew anything. I also haven't lost a single pound (maybe the plain grilled chicken breast I ate is holding me back! Lol), but that's just further affirmation to me that my body is freakin' crazy and I HAVE to get this surgery to have some help losing this weight. Surgery on November 20th. Good luck guys!!!

Keep it up. You've totally got this! The diet after surgery is painfully similar. I haven't, and won't be able to, chew for over 4 weeks. I actually had a dream last night that I was eating a giant salad at a salad bar. Lol.

@ girl yes!!! Salad sounds so good! I have been craving a can of carrots for four days, Haha so weird. When you can't have anything, I guess your priorities change, lol. I hated cottage cheese before this but we are best friends now!

That's funny, I've never been a fan of cottage cheese either but I've been dreaming of some ways I can use it during puréed stage in a few weeks. And refried beans never sounded so amazing in all my life.

Mmmmm refried beans...I would totally put some fire sauce from Taco Bell on some refried beans and eat that...sounds amazing right now, lol. Better go drink my protein shake!! Ugh ???????? haha!!!

i love refried beans and i'm hoping i still do post-op, because i think i could live on them. i would love to mix them with some medium hot salsa!

Yes! Salsa makes everything better. I have so many puréed stage recipe ideas I can't wait to try!

I am on day five of my pre op diet. 3 protein shakes a day, water and chicken broth. I've lost 10 pounds since Saturday. Surgery at 730 tomorrow morning!

I have pre-op tomorrow and surgery Thursday! I'm excited but my nerves are frazzled!!! I have been browsing the before and after pics to help me focus . . .

This time tomorrow I will be on my way to the hospital to check in for surgery! I am so excited! :) I give all you liquid dieters props....I dont have to start liquids until 6pm tonight! I am nervous. I think i am mostly nervous to be at the hospital overnight and leave my furbabies to be cared for by my stepson lol. My doctor offers the surgery as outpatient but my insurance requires the overnight :/

Good Morning!

My name is Tammy- I live in the greater Orlando area in Florida. My Gastric sleeve was done on 11/7- so I am 4 days post op.

Starting weight was 220- when I got home I weighed 225- now I know IV fluids contributed to that.

I was scheduled to stay in the hospital 1 night and had to stay 2 d/t uncontrolled nausea. I seemed to shake that Saturday morning and came home.

Today- day 4- I am heading to Sam's Club with my Mom- and to Macy's. Just going to try to get in some steps- and get moving.

I am happy to be here- and expect that I will need some support as this journey continues

Tammy
