November Surgery Date

After a nearly year long process I finally got my surgery date of November 3rd. After taking several months to complete all the pre-op appts. I was ready to go when my insurance changed. My new insurance required me to do the 6 months of appts with my PCP. When I finally completed that it took a month to get insurance approval, but it was worth the wait. I am now in a good place and will be ready to go on November 3rd. Anyone else in November or have a surgery date close to mine? I would really like to be a support system to others as well as receive support. Hope to hear from you!

My surgery is November 17th . I hope i can deal with this liquid diet until then .

Mine is the 18th, on my third day of the liquid diet and feel tired and weak. Hope it gets easier.

Don't seem to have gas pains anymore. Have a pain in my left side when I'm walking tho. But so far found that I don't need my high blood pressure meds anymore and my insulin dosage is down by 20u.

November 15th! :)

How did you do? Hope you are feeling ok.

Nov 19th, I started packing today. Ready for this day to be over with. I have a busy day today, so it should fly by. My husband wanted to know if I was staying home from work today, I said no the day would just go by so slow if I had to sit at home and wait. By going to work it'll go by so fast. I have to call the hospital today after 4pm to see what time I have to go in. I hope it is early. I get up early every day anyway. More anxious than nervous right now.

Ldimples I ended up catching a respiratory virus. So surgery was delayed until tomorrow Nov 20th :) How are you doing?

Surgery went well yesterday. The night was hard. They have you up every two hours to walk, for real. Was nauseous and dizzy from the pain medication. So I stopped taking it. Being nauseous and dizzy was worse than the pain. Going for a upper G.I test in a few and be able to go home by 1pm today. Glad that part is over

Oh no. That almost happen to me. My son was sick and then I was not feeling well.

It's Thanksgiving guys! I'm 7days post op. I plan on eating peas and unsweetened applesauce for my "dinner". What are you guys going to have today?

Going back to work tomorrow. Finally starting to feel like myself. It took longer than the 5 days that I thought. I am glad I had took the additional days off. I am down 25lbs. Now the real challenge begins. I feel good about the 25lbs but now I have to make sure I follow the program. Water, Protein and Walking. Everything seems possible when you feel well. Thanks to all your advice and support I made it through this part of the process.

I'm almost 4 weeks post op I can start soft foods in a few days at last. Lost 10kgs since my op on 6th nov but hit a stall. Been having back problems but it's on n off prob because I've been a lot more active than I ever have since my 20s. Back then I used to walk everywhere till I got to the point my feet couldn't handle walking I got nerve damage due to diabetes and posture related.

My insulin just dropped 5 more units from 60u preop lantus to 35u and insulin during the day depends on what I eat if it's say yogurt I have 4-6u. But I only have yogurt 2times a day cause I can add 28g Protein per serve.

Hope everyone's doing good.
