Awaiting approval....

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, so my bariatric doctors office sent in the request for my surgery (UHC) Oct.17. I have been calling daily to see if it has been approved yet. My insurancr is saying they need my surgeons office to call them. They didnt request anymore information but they can only speak to them, etc. Has this happened to anyone? Do you know what could be holding up the process? To make matters worse ny coordinator is out the entire week. It seems like the closer I get the further I am.

I know the feeling mrsaizsha_101, but Oct. 17 is good but, I know you want that approval. My surgery is suppose to be Oct. 8th. I finished the 6 month (meetings weight ins etc...)the end of March. I had to go get my heart checked out then sleep study all things that could have been done during the six months previously, before I got excited about getting my surgery in June (I thought). My insurance company told me that it could take up to 30 days and it did. I got my on the phone approval. It was approved Aug 8th. but the clinic had to have a letter from them. So now, here I am waiting and it seems like these days are really flying by. I am hoping and praying that I don't get a cold. So I say call the doctor and the insurance company. And I am glad you don't have to wait a long time ( easy for me to say). Good luck on your day

i can understand the frustration as well. I started this journey with my seminar last December, made it through the 6 months of the doctor diet and then struggled with my doctor to get the paperwork turned into the surgeon's office so it could be turned in to insurance. Was finally turned into insurance last Friday (Sept 25th) and waiting for approval. It's been a long wait since December! I'm so ready to go with this! This is the first year my insurance is covering bariatric surgery so it's kind of scary to know if they will actually cover it or not.

Good luck to you both :) It will be worth the wait, right??

Julie

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
