Yyyeeeessss.

Me too, same surgery same day. Doc says it is common and that I should drink more, also up the liquid Tylenol to extra strength, seems to have helped.

Day6 post and today I'm hungry!!! How do you fight this?!?

Are you on a PPI at all? Getting in your 64+oz of Water? I'm only 4 days post-op (surgery was Tuesday) but I haven't felt any actual hunger yet. I'm not looking forward to it's return!

My energy comes and goes. Yesterday (5 days post) I had lots of energy, but today not so much.

I've been exhausted today. Just feel weak and I hate it. I've been struggling with getting in Protein supplements and my Water. I really was planning on being back at work Tuesday but I think I'm going to need a couple more days. :-(

I had my surgery November 4th. Spent two days in the hospital and now have been recovering at home. I would love to have a surgery buddy because I have never known anyone to get this surgery. Because of that I feel quite isolated and would love to have someone I could share my journey with.

I had my surgery the same day. My stomach been growling alot. I eat Soup and then it starts to hurt so I assume that means I'm full. But then 15 minutes later is growling. Eating a popsicle. Only thing that seems to be working. I try to drink Protein in the morning and some at night. But I'm not getting the recommended amount in. Working on that

I was the 4th as well. I haven't been able to get more than 20-30 grams of Protein in and I'm having trouble getting to 64oz of hydrating fluids. Every day seems a bit better but it's still been rather troubling. If I drink too much too quickly, it hurts. But going slow makes me feel like I'll never reach my goals. Trying to remind myself that we're all different and that it was a major surgery so I need to focus on healing right now. One day at a time!

@@devoted04, how is the pre-op diet going?

I blew mine yesterday, totally without noticing. I was doing well, when around 3 pm a co-worker in the next office came over offering a spicy nut mix he made. I just accepted it and had already ate a third of it before I realized OMGosh I'm not supposed to be eating! Oh well, today is a new day and I am back to liquids and one meal a day.

How is everyone else?

I'm on day 10. Staying strong but today was rough. If I'm able to stay on top of my shakes, like at home, then have no troubles. Today at work I left my soy milk out and didn't drink enough shakes. By the time I got home, I was ready to bust into the quick unhealthy freezer meals. But I made some broth and a shake instead. This liquid diet (which is 99% sweet) is for the birds!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
