Sleevers 22 September - 28 September - Check in

I saw this thread for people who had surgery the week prior and thought it would be good to start one for everyone who had surgery last week.

My surgery was on Wednesday the 24th. Had an unexpected hernia repair during the surgery which my surgeon said would make me more sore. He wasn't lying. I'm still pretty sore. First few days were a blur, I just wanted to sleep. My first three days I was only able to get down a 1/3 of a Protein shake. It was so much work.

Today was probably the first day that regular food started looking appealing to me. Not having any issues with the liquid diet though, I generally get filled up pretty fast.

My weight on day of surgery was 244 and this morning I was at 240.

I have the next month off and I'm happy to have the time to bond with my baby sleeve. I have already learned that drinking too fast makes it chatty.

My gas is not from the surgery, it is more in the GI tract.

How's everyone doing?

I lost 7.5lbs the first week which is probably a record for me. Didn't exercise at all the first week because I was tired and did have some pain I was dealing with. I've been laying around binge-watching The Tudors. I did take a short walk today and am going to try to ease back into a routine.

I'm starting to struggle with the food demons. Thinking of all the foods that I want to eat (despite not being hungry at all) and I suddenly really want a Diet Pepsi. I drank caffeine-free before so I know it's not caffeine withdrawal. Just a bad habit that doesn't want to leave quietly.

I know it has only bean 5 days but according to my scales I haven't lost a pound go to doctor tomorrow.Having a lor of trouble with diarrhea also Afraid to leave house. Boopgwee

Tomorrow is my post op appt with my surgeon!! I'm excited to see what their scale says, mine says down 14 lbs since surgery. I'm feeling so much better since moving to full liquids. Today I made homemade cream of cauliflower soup. It's so good even if I can only eat 2 ounces ????????

It a week later and wow what a difference a couple of days makes. I feel 1000% better. I am down to 165. Crazy how quickly the body recovers. I feel really good! But I still won't' forget those first few days, lol!

I couldn't agree more. A few days ago, I went for a 10 minute walk and it kicked my butt. I was weak, shaky, out of breath, etc. Today I went for a walk and only stopped at 20 minutes because it was raining. I felt great after my walk today. I'm also feel less preoccupied by thoughts of food. It's not really bothering me anymore. Just try to get my fluids and Protein shakes and getting joy out of seeing the number on the scale drop.

I was sleeved on the 25th! I too had horrible gas pains and buyers remorse! I am starting to feel hungry and am on the full liquid diet for the next 2 weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can eat that would satisfy my hunger ? Congrats to all the sleevers! We are in this together ❤️

I had surgery Friday, Sept. 26th. I've been enjoying a case of Progresso New England clam chowder, and a case of their small cans of chicken bouillon. I mix one can of each until it's boiling, then strain out the potato chunks. Put it in the blender and pour into a bowl. If you want to make it a Protein drink/soup, measure out one cup of the soup back into the blender and add 1 scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken soup Protein powder. Delicious--- especially that it's hot and salty. Hits the spot.

I have had some tomato soup and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes have filled me up.
