Sleevers 22 September - 28 September - Check in

I saw this thread for people who had surgery the week prior and thought it would be good to start one for everyone who had surgery last week.

My surgery was on Wednesday the 24th. Had an unexpected hernia repair during the surgery which my surgeon said would make me more sore. He wasn't lying. I'm still pretty sore. First few days were a blur, I just wanted to sleep. My first three days I was only able to get down a 1/3 of a Protein shake. It was so much work.

Today was probably the first day that regular food started looking appealing to me. Not having any issues with the liquid diet though, I generally get filled up pretty fast.

My weight on day of surgery was 244 and this morning I was at 240.

I have the next month off and I'm happy to have the time to bond with my baby sleeve. I have already learned that drinking too fast makes it chatty.

@@❤️lovemysleeve My surgery was 9/24. Soups (without chunks) was on my full liquid stage. I got to start full liquids right away. I'm on puree now, a little early with my doctor's blessing. It's like a whole new world opened up with the puree stage.

I was sleeved on Tuesday September 23rd. Today was my first day back to work and I was so sleepy after I got off. My two week pre op appointment is on Wednesday and I can't wait to be released to soft foods. The pureed stage has been hard but I have learned to get in my protein and water if nothing else.

Melt down ...so today I was at work and we were all standing around talking and I wasn't really paying attention and boom I picked up a mini almond joy like normal and started eating it...realized what I had done and started spitting it out ! Of course I did ingest some but out of habit ate something I shouldn't ! So easy to start an old habit! I was telling a friend about it who had the surgery and she said oh no! I knew of someone that died from eating something sugary after the surgery! Gee Thanks for making me worry ! Anybody else accidentally eat something ?
