3 week post op pain - advice please

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Im three weeks post op. About one week after I was feeling great, no pain, no problems. A few days after that, I started getting a severe pain in my left side, not at the incision, but much deeper into my abdomen. I called the dr and they said this is normal because there are internal stitches. But now I'm a week and a half later, and I still can't move without feeling this sharp pain on my left side. Sometimes its just a twinge and others its more severe and I can't even move. I'm not sure if I should call the doctor again?? Or just deal with it.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

sometimes i feel "guilty" when i see posts like yours

reason is that i never had any issuess/pain PO

its great/helpful to hear from other peoples experiences

pain PO is common - but to have more pain after you have felt ok - i would check it out :(

"just deal with it" - I don't think sooooo

why should you suffer???

in my opinion i would definitely call your doc

at the end of the day always talk and listen to your DOC/NUT

they are the ones that should help you with "official" medical advice :)

good luck

kathy

I would ask to go in and see the doctor. Np, or RN.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
