So i was sleeved on sept 9th so i am 3 days post op...the surgery itself went well no complications although i was in recovery 3 hours longer than expected. I came home the next day and was in alot of pain, i could drink anything not even a sip of Water, i slept most of the day but did get up periodically to walk around. Thursday morning i woke coughing up blood clots had a headache and blurred vision. I called my dr and he recommended me coe to er...i was there for several hours ended up being dehydrated and having irritation in my throat from the tube. They put iv in and gave me pain meds and fluids did xray and was released couple hours later. That same day i felt horrible and still couldn't drink anything. Today was so much better i was able to drink all 8oz of my Protein Shake required of me, 2oz chicken broth 2oz crystal light 2oz sugar free Jello and a popscicle ???? im still struggling on drinking water throughout the day in between meals but i will get there my pain subsided and was alot more comfortable today. I even took a walk up the block ???? i know everyday will be better than the next!

I was sleeved Wed. Sent home Friday. Struggling to get my required liquids in. The pain is getting worse. Maybe it does before it gets better. Hoping to turn my corner soon. God bless.

glad to see you have turned the corner. I am off pain meds now (surgery sept 10). don't really care for the taste of Protein shakes right now, but I am doing my best to get my required grams in. keep it up, I hope there are no more trips for you to the dr.s office. take care

You are right about feeling better as each day goes by. You will be able to take in more fluids as you go along.

Good luck to you in your recovery!!! (I am almost 5 weeks out)

Post op day 3 here. Def getting alittle better each day but still really tough. I think they forgot to tell us this part. Still happy I did it though. Be good to yourself and take it one day at a time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
