Pain in left side under rib cage,

Recommended Posts

I am freshly banded, about three weeks ago. I have felt fine, now I have a really intense, almost overwhelming pain on left side mostly, but under my entire rib cage. I am feeling panicky, and in my googling venture have found some sensical, and horrifying possibilities. Please advise :)

Could be gas pain or even pancreatitis? Best to ask your PCP or surgeon?

Hi

I have been having left sided pain for about a week. Had my 4 weeks appt today. It is believed to be, well...from not being regular post op.

Yes. I'm apparently full of it ;-) I'm told if I'm not going enough, and fully, that residual backs up in the intestine that travels across and down the left side. You also trap gas there. So I've been told to take MOM more frequently (I had taken it a couple of times). Get things moving well. Also don't wait more than 3 or 4 days to take more if needed.

I wanted to share this in case you could be in the same situation.

Hope you feel better soon.

I had the same pain. It was from my port. I saw my dr today and he said there is a nerve that runs close to the port. Typically it hurts most when sitting for long periods of time like in a car. He said sometimes is takes months for it to fully heal. I would still let your dr know.

Well, I had the same or similar pain for almost a year. Talked with PA and he felt around down there, and of course, just like the car mechanic, I did not have the pain nor could we find an issue. It still occurs now and again and I have figured out I might be eating a little too fast. I would ask your doctor or his PA or nurse about it though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
