2 week post op visit....

Recommended Posts

Well i guess technically it was almost 3 weeks but whatever! My dr. weighed me 2 months pre-op and I was at 344....well for my 2 week post op I was at 333!!!! So I've lost at least 11 lbs so far (I am sure I weighed more than that the day of surgery but I guess I should go by his official weight.) I am thrilled to be 11 lbs+ lighter!!!!!!! Just wanted to give you guys an update!! Oh yeah I go back in 4 weeks for my first fill!!! WOO HOOOO!!!:D:):(

Great job! I also waited 2 months for my first fill. I wanted to make sure that everything had healed well first. Is your energy level picking up yet?:D

Congrats on the loss and keep up the good work!

Are you going for a fill even if you're still losing weight? I've read in many places to only get a fill when the weight loss stops for greater than 3-4 weeks. I haven't been for a first fill yet either, and have been advised to be careful of getting scheduled fills regardless of physical status, so as not to overfill. I also find that I've tightened up some on my own since surgery 19 days ago. I didn't feel much restriction the first 2 weeks, but after my friend visited this month the restriction increased... but didn't decrease after...weird. Congrats again on the great results so far, it's a great feeling isn't it?

Thanks so much guys! Hope, yeah my energy is picking up, plus knowing i'm doing well makes me more motivated to get outside and walk walk walk. walked today for about an hour, nothing to stressful but got the ol' blood and heart pumping pretty good...gotta start somewhere right??

Pam it's so funny you say that my monthly "friend" is here and it's been difficult to eat much of anything the past couple of days...when normally baked potato wouldnt bother me the other day I had to stop halfway through...and for some reason I am having a harder time than normal with my Water...I'm getting MAYBE 40 oz a day in which i know I need more of and would help with the yucky bloating but the thought of it makes me ill almost...what I really want is MILK...oh it's like Heaven for some reason...anyone else ever get any odd cravings like that??

Michelle, the mushy stage has been the greatest thing ever since getting off those liquids!!! thought that torture would never ever end, LoL!! Mac and cheese and refried Beans and mashed potatoes are wonderful!!! Let me ask you guys a question though....is it ok or not ok to eat the skin on a baked potato? i went to wendy's to get one with cheese ( for Protein of course :) not that I love love love cheese) and didnt know if the skin was ok...

Thanks for all your support you are each becoming new editions to my family quite quickly! My mom said she felt like she was getting to know you all as well because i tell her of all of my great advice I get and support and how wonderful you guys are!!

Much love

Katie

Katie, I like milk too, and drink a glass every day (fat-free). I wouldn't eat the potato peeling, apple peeling, peach peeling, etc. They're pretty bad about getting "stuck" and you don't need that. Best of luck to you!:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
