I actually had everything I needed but I was most happy that I brought pajama pants (loose) to be worn for walking the hallway and so I wasn't so cold in bed and also that I brought my own pillow (hospital pillows just aren't the same). Would also recommend chapstick, hand sanitizer, comfortable loose clothes for the trip home, pillow to hold on stomach for car ride home.

Needed very little.

Only thing I used that hospital did not provide was my iPad.

I wore a stretchy dress with no waistline and matching jacket. Smart idea.

Pillow in the car home also was a smart idea.

It's a hospital overnight, not a vacation. You'll be fine.

I wish I had brought my own pillow. I am used to a feather pillow that I can mold and shape. The hospital pillows pop back into thier old shape as soon as I pick my head up.

And it would have been nice to have a pillow to squeeze against my stomach on the ride home.

Biotene mouth spray!!! My mouth and throat was so dry after I woke up from surgery. But I couldn't drink anything and even when I did it seemed to make it worse. My mom brought this to me on the second day and I was so greatful! You can get it at Walmart (usually I the toothpaste isle)

They don't want you to bring anything except your CPAP if you use one, and of course your phone and ipad. That's a given. Good luck to you. Dabberdoo (Debra))

I absolutely needed my chap stick. Also I was alone so when I walked the hospital floor I kept kicking the iv stand. I did have shoes with me and that helped keep me from stubbing my toes !!!!

A lot less than I did! Chapstick and my own pillow. My hospital wouldn't let me use any over the counter stuff, they provided it all---throat drops, stuff to lubricate my mouth, gas treatment. I didn't even use my iPad much and I am an addict. My phone and charger was sufficient. Wore their clothes and slipper/sock thingies. Brought all kinda of stuff--PJs slippers robe yoga clothes toiletries hand sanitizer lotion earplugs eye mask--that I never ever used or they provided!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
