One and half months out

Recommended Posts

July the 9th of 2014 I was on a plane to San Diego with all the concerns anyone could possibly have. I was nervous but determined. I had looked into this for 3 years at least and finally made my decision. I decided to go to Dr. Ramos Kelly. He had the most experience of anyone I looked at. Let me go back a few years. Even though I'm overweight, severely depressed and HB pressure my own denied me to have surgery. Without insurance in the states just for the surgeon was over 12k that isn't including hospital or any other test. Out of desperation I chose to go to Mexico. Turns out that was the best choice for me. I'm almost two months out and 30lbs down. I'm doing my best to do another 40lbs and I'll be at my goal. Dr. Kelly and his staff was very nice and to tell truth very little pain. I'm glad I had it done...just wish I could have stayed longer than the 4 days.

Glad that you had a very positive experience. Do you wish you stayed longer to be monitored? Who is continuing your post op care?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
