Surgery date is 09/25 I work mostly at my desk but it's definitely high stress working on automobile total loss claims. I also am the office notary so when customers come in to take care of claims I'm up and down doing that. Personally I'm the single mom of a 4 year old, my mom will be able to come the day before surgery Weds. but has to leave Sunday. Realistically how much time should I take off. I'd rather have too much approved and go back early then not have enough.

Thank you I will definitely be talking to my surgeon at my pre op appointment on the 22nd. I would rather go back after he has released me to solids and I have a solid routine but we'll play it by ear. I'm just fearful of going back and ending up out again....my company is big on occurrences for unscheduled time.

I telecommute full time - I had surgery on Thursday and worked 1/2 days the following week, working a full day that Tuesday. I was tired. It was nice to be able to stop working and take a nap or a short walk that week after surgery.

If I had to go to my office and work a full day, I would have taken 2 weeks off. Remember this is major surgery and you need to be good to yourself. You're going to get tired easily and you will need to rest.

Best of luck and take good care of yourself!

I took a week off and it ended up being just fine. I was also in an office job that mostly involved sitting with occassional up and down movement. It wasn't so much being sore, as just being tired, particularly since you can't really eat anything to increase your energy like you would after a type of surgery that doesn't include diet restrictions. With a 4 year old, if you have the time to take off for two weeks, why not go for it and if you feel better early, you can always go back. Either way you're covered. Good luck with surgery!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
