Recommended Posts

Hi, it's been 5 months after my vsg surgery and i want to start workout. Is it safe to start body building now? Should i avoid any movements and is it safe to make about 200 sit-ups everyday ?.

Thanks.

I just had my 7 week check up and the doctor took all restrictions off of me. I think you will be fine just listen to your body if it hurts stop. I cant even imagine doing 200 sit ups but thats just me if you can do it go for it.

Thanks for the info queenie. I' ll make half sit-ups.

My doc said that some movements might cause Hiatal Hernia but i don't really remember what exactly he said. I cant reach him right now cuz hes abroad, guess i'll start with light workout schedule and stop if my body hurts like you said.

i would think you would be ok, but i would build up to it at a slow pace & not full on hard core... Listen to your body... and when you can, double check with your Doc or Nut.

Good luck :)

My surgeon cleared me for weight training two weeks after surgery. However, I'm listening to my body and taking it easy. My energy still isn't what it was pre-op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
