I was using Premier Protein but my nut says I should only have Protein isolate. The protein isolate shakes are disgusting and making this diet even harder

Okay I have a question since we are talking cardiologist. I had my pre op interview or whatever with the hospital before surgery to discuss health history and such. Everything was fine until the end when she said I had to take my atenolol 25mg morning of surgery and 2 days post op. I said "excuse me? My what?" Now a little history I have a perfect EKG, perfect ECHO, and BP runs 120/70 or 110/70. So why would I take heart medication?? Is this normal? No one from cardiologist even spoke a word of it. Talk about raise in anxiety and fear. I have a call into the cardiologist so he can explain things to me but 19 days before surgery I didn't need this!!

I wish I had some insight to offer, but that just sounds bizarre to me. I'd almost bet it was just a mis-key. Someone should have typed code 43 and instead typed code 433 which is something completely unrelated. That type of thing.

Premier Protein are good and so are the GNC lean shakes.< /p>

I'll have to give those a try. My husband just bought some Muscle Milk light to try, the premixed chocolate. He likes it so I tried it. Disgusting!

Thanks. I am waiting for a call from cardiologist tomorrow and some very good answers. The pre op nurse said if I didn't get a script that the anesthesiologist would take care of giving it to me...YIKES!!! I waspassed nervous and on to excited about my surgery, but now I am so anxious and scared again.

I am Sept. 8, just 4 days away! I am doing great with the preop diet, except for a daily minor headache. I am on day 4 of diet and it's not too bad. The hardest part is cooking good dinners for the family and I don't eat them. I am doing 3-4 shakes a day with a veggie and Protein. Think I've lost 8 lbs. already! Hang in there, you and me both!!!!!

I need to try muscle milk I haven't tried them yet. You can get a great deal on diffrent Protein Shakes at big lot s.

The hubs tried the powdered muscle milk 100 cal tonight, mixing it with skim milk instead of Water. I took a sip and while it's not my favorite thing in the world, it's about 1,000 times better than the ready-to-drink.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
